I’ve long been a believer running backs, no matter the talent, mean virtually nothing to the point spread, which has proven to hold true in this case once again. For the Giants, the countdown to Daniel Jones begins as Eli Manning will start the season following one of the worst seasons of his career.
Pittsburgh Steelers (+5.5, 49.5 O/U) at New England Patriots (8:20 PM EST)
A hungry and focused Steelers team will be on hand Sunday night when the defending champion New England Patriots begin yet another title defense under the Brady/Belichick regime. The Patriots will be without first-round draft pick N’Keal Harry who was placed on IR last week, but in true Patriot fashion, I have no doubt an undrafted Sun Belt Conference stud is waiting in the wings. The new-look and much faster Steelers defense will make their regular-season debut as well and look to get to Brady from the jump.
