2023 3M Open: PGA Longshot Odds, Picks & Predictions

With last week’s British Open in the rear-view mirror, we now look forward to this week’s 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota. TPC Twin Cities will host this event, which it has done annually since the tournament’s inception in 2019.

TPC Twin Cities is a par-71, 7,431-yard track designed by Arnold Palmer that features bentgrass greens. A relatively easy course to score on, birdie-heavy golfers and those with a strong iron game typically set themselves apart from the rest of the field.

Below, I will give out my two best longshot bets to win the 2023 3M Open.

2023 3M Open: Best Longshot Bets

These plays are 0.3u and 0.15u, or 0.3% and 0.15% of your betting bankroll.

Mark Hubbard (+5500 via BetRivers): 0.3u

The first golfer we are targeting this week is Mark Hubbard, who currently sits at 55/1 via BetRivers. Entering this tournament in fine form, Hubbard has made eight of his past 10 cuts with four Top 10 finishes over that stretch.

A strong iron player, he has gained strokes on the approach in nine of those 10 tournaments. On TOUR this season, Hubbard ranks 13th in strokes gained on the approach.

Not only should his ball striking set him up for success this week, but he typically fares well on bentgrass greens. Hubbard gained strokes putting in each of his past three tournaments contested on bentgrass greens, finishing inside the Top 10 in two of those three outings.

Finally, Hubbard ranks 90th on TOUR this season in ParBreakers%.

Eric Cole (+6000 via BetRivers): 0.15u

Another golfer to target this week is Eric Cole, who currently sits at 60/1 via BetRivers. Producing a breakout campaign, Cole currently ranks 43rd in the FedEx Cup Standings and enters this tournament in great form.

Not only has he made nine of his past 11 cuts, but he also boasts three Top 15 finishes over that stretch, including his T15 performance at the PGA Championship among a field much stronger than the one we will see this week. He also finished T24 at the Travelers Championship and the Memorial Tournament, two outings contested on bentgrass greens.

Cole gained strokes putting in both of those events. He is also a solid iron player, gaining strokes on the approach in 11 of his past 12 tournaments.

On TOUR this season, he ranks 33rd in strokes gained on the approach. An aggressive player, Cole also ranks 27th in ParBreakers%.
