Raise Cain is a three-year-old colt who has already made a name for himself in the racing world. He is fast, determined, and has an impressive racing record that makes him a formidable contender for the coveted Kentucky Derby trophy.

Horse Racing Background

Raise Cain was bred and is owned by Vineyard Vines Racing. He was sired by Tapit, a popular American racehorse who won several races over the course of his career, including the Wood Memorial Stakes, the Grade I Breeder’s Cup Juvenile and the Grade I Preakness Stakes.

Raise Cain’s dam, Quixotic Lady, was sired by Distorted Humor, who is best known for siring Funny Cide, a racehorse who won the 2003 Kentucky Derby. As such, Raise Cain’s breeding is top-notch, and his lineage can be traced back to some of the greatest thoroughbreds to ever grace the racing scene.

Racing Achievements

Raise Cain has had an illustrious racing career so far. He made his debut on August 15th, 2021, at Monmouth Park, where he won his first start by a clear four lengths. Since then, he has raced three more times, winning two and coming second in the other.

His most impressive performance to date was at the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, held on November 5th, 2022 at Del Mar racetrack in California. Raise Cain put on a stunning show, winning the race by an impressive three and a quarter lengths. This victory made him a favorite pick for the upcoming Kentucky Derby, and many horse racing enthusiasts believe that he could be the horse to beat.

Training and Jockey

Raise Cain’s training is led by renowned trainer Todd Pletcher. Pletcher is an experienced trainer with an impressive record, having won many major races over the years, including the Kentucky Derby in 2010 with the horse ‘Super Saver.’

Throughout Raise Cain’s racing career, he has been ridden by jockey Joel Rosario. Rosario is a seasoned jockey with a wealth of experience, having ridden numerous top-rated horses throughout his career. He is known for his calm demeanor and excellent tactical sense, which has led to many victories in his career.
