2023 NFL Wild Card Weekend Touchdown Scorer Player Prop Bet Picks (Sunday)

The NFL Playoffs kick off this weekend including three matchups on Sunday. The first contest is between AFC East division rivals as the Miami Dolphins face the Buffalo Bills. Both regular season matchups were determined by three or fewer points, with each team winning at home. However, Tua Tagovailoa played in both matchups. On Sunday, the rookie Skylar Thompson will start for the Dolphins.

In the second game on Sunday, the New York Giants face the Minnesota Vikings. These two teams met in Week 16 in Minnesota, with the home team winning 27-24. The game was a close competitive battle, with the Vikings pulling out the victory on a game-winning 61-yard field goal as time expired.

To end the day, the Baltimore Ravens take on the Cincinnati Bengals in an AFC North divisional matchup. These two teams faced off last week, with the Bengals winning 27-16 as the Ravens started Anthony Brown Jr. at quarterback and sat key offensive players Mark Andrews and J.K. Dobbins. However, in the Week 5 matchup, the Ravens won 19-17, as Lamar Jackson led the team with 58 rushing yards. Unfortunately, Tyler Huntley appears on track to start this week, with Jackson still dealing with a knee injury.

Touchdown Scorer Player Prop Bet Predictions (Sunday)

Millions of dollars will get bet on these games. However, which touchdown prop bets should you bet? Let’s take a look.

Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills

Dolphins First TD Scorer: Jeff Wilson Jr. (+320)

In the Week 15 matchup between these two teams the Dolphins scored 29 points. However, their offense that day won’t be the same as the one that takes the field on Sunday. Tagovailoa won’t play, while Raheem Mostert is dealing with a thumb injury and is trending toward not playing. Therefore, Wilson will have a featured role against Buffalo. The first Miami touchdown in the two previous matchups against the Bills this season was by a running back. Furthermore, a Dolphins running back has scored the team’s first touchdown in 35.3% of the games this season. Meanwhile, the first touchdown scored against Buffalo has been by a running back in nearly half of the games this year.

Bills First TD Scorer: Dawson Knox (+750)

While Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen are the faces of Buffalo’s offense, Knox plays a critical role when they get in the red zone. The veteran tight end has six touchdowns this season. Three were the first offensive touchdown of the game for the Bills, including last week against the New England Patriots. Furthermore, Knox has three touchdowns in his past three playoff games, including two in the Wild Card round last year. More importantly, he has a touchdown in two of the past three matchups against Miami, including in Week 15. Meanwhile, a tight end has scored the first touchdown against the Dolphins in 29.4% of the games this season, including in two of the past four weeks.

Anytime TD Scorer: James Cook (+205)

The rookie running back has earned more of a role with the team lately, playing a career-high 56% of the offensive snaps last week. More importantly, Cook has scored a touchdown in two of the past three games, including the Week 15 matchup against Miami. In that game, Cook and Nyheim Hines had a receiving touchdown. Meanwhile, the Dolphins surrendered six receiving touchdowns to running backs this season, the most in the NFL. Hines at +650 to score is also a solid bet. He had two kickoff returns for a touchdown last week and could get in the end zone on offense as he did in Week 15.

New York Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings

Giants First TD Scorer: Saquon Barkley (+215)

After dealing with injuries the past few years, Barkley had an outstanding 2022 season with 10 scrimmage touchdowns, leading the team. More importantly, the superstar running back scored the first New York offensive touchdown in 35.3% of the games this year. Furthermore, he has scored a touchdown in eight of the past 12 games, including the Week 16 matchup against the Vikings. Another solid option is Daniel Jones at +500. He had the second-most scrimmage touchdowns on the team this season with seven, including the first New York score of the game twice. Meanwhile, the Vikings have surrendered 18 rushing touchdowns this year. Eight of those scores were the first touchdown of the game for their opponent, two of them by quarterbacks.

Vikings First TD Scorer: Justin Jefferson (+360)

Minnesota has several star players on their offense, but Jefferson is the alpha dog of the unit. The superstar receiver had nine scrimmage touchdowns during the regular season, the second-most on the team. However, four of his scores came as the first touchdown of the game for the Vikings in nearly a quarter of the contests this season. Meanwhile, the first touchdown scored against New York has been by a wide receiver in 41.2% of the games this year, including three of the past six contests. Dalvin Cook at +280 is another solid bet, as he led the team with 10 scrimmage touchdowns this season, including three as the first score of the game for the Vikings.

Anytime TD Scorer: T.J. Hockenson (+215)

Before he got traded to the Vikings, Hockenson had three receiving touchdowns this season. However, he had three touchdowns in 10 games with Minnesota. More importantly, two of them came in the Week 16 matchup against the Giants, including the first touchdown of the game for the team. The veteran tight end had 13 receptions on 16 targets in that contest. Hockenson had eight or more targets in four straight matchups before last week’s game, where he rested most of the second half. Meanwhile, the Giants gave up six receiving touchdowns to tight ends this season, with a third of them coming over the past three weeks.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Ravens First TD Scorer: J.K. Dobbins (+425)

The Ravens backfield has been a merry-go-round this season because of injuries. However, Dobbins has been the best player of the bunch, averaging 5.7 yards per rushing attempt this year. He has three scrimmage touchdowns this season despite playing only eight games. More importantly, Dobbins scored the first touchdown in Week 14 for the Ravens, his first game back from a knee injury, and in Week 4. Furthermore, the first Baltimore touchdown has been a rushing score in nearly half of the games this season. Without their superstar quarterback, the Ravens will need to lean on their running backs more than usual.

Bengals First TD Scorer: Joe Mixon (+270)

While he had a down year by some metrics, Mixon had nine scrimmage touchdowns this season, the second-most of his career. The star running back led the team in touchdowns despite missing two games. More importantly, he scored the first Cincinnati touchdown in nearly a quarter of the games he played this season, including last week against the Ravens. Furthermore, the first touchdown by the team has been by a running back in 37.5% of the games this year. Meanwhile, the first touchdown given up by the Ravens has been to a running back in 35.3% of the games this season, including two straight and four of the past seven contests.

Anytime TD Scorer: Ja’Marr Chase (-105)

Despite missing four games this year with a hip injury, the second-year receiver led the team with nine receiving touchdowns. Chase is one of the most explosive wide receivers in the NFL, scoring at least one touchdown in 58.3% of the games this year. Furthermore, he has at least one touchdown in five of his past seven games, scoring two touchdowns in two of those matchups. Moreover, the superstar receiver has 22 receiving touchdowns in 29 career regular season games. Meanwhile, Chase has two touchdowns in four career matchups against the Ravens, including a 26-yard score last week.
