The 2023 NBA Summer League just wrapped up, but there is plenty of summer basketball yet to be played. The Big3 rolls on, and now fans get to enjoy TBT, The Basketball Tournament. Games will be featured on ESPN throughout the tournament, and we’ll have you covered with picks and predictions for each matchup. TBT believes “high stakes competition is the most powerful force in sports.” They’ll offer an open tournament and games of consequence daily which should result in some electrifying competition. Let’s take a look at our top picks for today’s TBT action.

Here are our top picks for today’s 2023 TBT action.

Friday Beers vs. Men of Mackey

Friday Beers knocked off Athletics Miami, 84-72, in the opening round of The Basketball Tournament. They were led by Aubrey Dawkins, Dee Bost, and Julian Gamble, who all played over 25 minutes in the win. Friday Beers doesn't have much depth and will rely heavily on Gabe York, Coty Clarke, and the other three mentioned. Still, Gamble and Clarke were terrific on the glass, earning 21 rebounds combined. They'll take on Men of Mackey, who added a first-round win against Team Colorado, 70-68. Nobody stood out in the Men of Mackey win. They've got more players playing, but those players aren't x-factors. Isaiah Wilkerson had 14 points in 21.8 minutes of action to lead the team. But I'll stick with Friday Beers to escape with a win in this game.

Pick: Friday Beers -4.5 (-120)

India Rising vs. Carmen’s Crew

Carmen's Crew earned an 80-68 win over Team Overtime in the first round. Notable names like Kaleb Wesson and Keith Wesson, along with Kyle Young, all contributed at a high level for Carmen's Crew. They've got ten players that they're comfortable with playing. But as the tournament starts to shrink, that rotation will likely shrink too. They'll face India Rising, who had the biggest shocker of the Tournament so far. India Rising defeated Red Scare, 77-67, as significant underdogs. Tajinder Lall scored 26 points and added five rebounds. Meanwhile, Jaz Bains and Venkatesha Jois added some excellent minutes while on the floor. But the talent gap still seems drastic in this matchup. I love Cinderella stories, but Carmen's Crew has way more talent.

Pick: Carmen’s Crew -7.5 (-115)

Blue Collar U vs. Boeheim’s Army

Blue Collar U is heating up. In the first matchup, Blue Collar U escaped against Big 5, earning a 78-77 victory. Blue Collar U destroyed Virginia Dream in the second matchup, 107-86. The depth of the roster could be stronger. But as long as C.J. Massinburg, Wes Clark, Nick Perkins, Jeremy Harris, and Dontay Caruthers are in a lineup together, Buffalo will be tough to beat. They'll take on Boeheim's Army in the night’s final game. To get to this point, they've defeated Team Gibson and The Nerd Team in back-to-back games. The offense continues to get great production out of Grant Riller. But no other player has averaged double figures through two games. Still, Boeheim's Army's depth is much better than Blue Collar U's. When Blue Collar U plays that bench, Syracuse will also earn plenty of points in this game. Therefore, I'm taking the Over in this game.
