2023 The Basketball Tournament (TBT) Odds & Picks: Wednesday (7/19)

The 2023 NBA Summer League just wrapped up, but there is plenty of summer basketball yet to be played. The Big3 rolls on, and now fans get to enjoy TBT, The Basketball Tournament. Games will be featured on ESPN throughout the tournament, and we’ll have you covered with picks and predictions for each matchup. TBT believes “high stakes competition is the most powerful force in sports.” They’ll offer an open tournament and games of consequence daily which should result in some electrifying competition. Let’s take a look at our top picks for today’s TBT action.

Today’s 2023 The Basketball Tournament (TBT) Bets

Here are our top picks for today’s 2023 TBT action.

Show Me Squad vs. Vegas Rebellion

The Show Me Squad is the Missouri alumni. The star players for this squad are Jontay Porter at the center, Kevin Hervey at power forward, and Erick Neal at point guard. This team still has some players that didn’t go to Missouri. Meanwhile, they’ll take on Vegas Rebellion in Wichita. That’s the UNLV alumni team. This is also their first year in the tournament. They probably don’t have the height to compete against Show Me Squad. Take Show Me Squad here.

Pick: Show Me Squad -2.5 (-115)

Mass Street vs. We Are D3

Mass Street is an exciting team. This is the Kansas alumni team that Keith Langford and Tyshawn Taylor will lead. Marcus and Markieff Morris’ll also coach them. Brandon Rush and Mario Chalmers are also on this team, along with Mitch Lightfoot. They’ll take on We Are D3, who have gone 0-4 in this event. They’ve been close to knocking off other teams but haven’t finished the job. They won’t have what it takes against Kansas’ alumni team. Give me Mass Street -11.5.

Pick: Mass Street -11.5 (-115)

LA Cheaters vs. Living The Dream

The L.A. Cheaters have gone 4-3 in The Basketball Tournament. This is the Drew League team. They’ll have notable names like Casper Ware Jr. and Chris Copeland, who spent time in the NBA. The Cheaters will play Living The Dream, who will make their first appearance in the Tournament. Thomas and Henry Welsh are leading a team that is dedicated to Pat Welsh, their dad. It’s a fun team with names like Joey Calcaterra from UConn and Isaac Hamilton from UCLA. I think they’ll stick around in this game. Give me the +6.5 with Living The Dream.

Pick: Living The Dream +6 (-115)

Bleed Green vs. Rise & Grind

Bleed Green will be the North Texas alumni. They’ve gone 2-1 in three games in The Basketball Tournament. This team only has nine players on the roster. It’ll be up to guys like Brandon Jefferson, Thomas Bell, and Jordan Stevens to push Bleed Green through the tournament. On the other hand, Rise & Grind is a new team in The Basketball Tournament. This group of D3, D3, and NAIA players wants more spotlight for their game. The gap between these two teams is closer than you’d think. Take Rise & Grind +7.5.

Pick: Rise & Grind +7.5 (-115)

HBCUnited vs. In The Lab

HBCUnited is back for another year. They’ve gone 2-2 in The Basketball Tournament and made the regional final last year. They’re going to be a sneaky out. They’ll face In The Lab. They’re new to the Tournament as well. D’Vontay Friga is on the roster. He’s known for his content creation in the basketball space. That’ll be fun to watch. But HBCUnited likely has the edge in this one.

Pick: HBCUnited -6 (-115)

The Enchantment vs. Austin’s Own

The Enchantment is the New Mexico alumni base. They’ve gone 1-2 in the Tournament and have 11 players on the roster. They hope this year’s team players are better than last year’s. They’ll play Austin’s Own, which is the Texas alumni. This is Austin’s Own’s first TBT appearance, and they’re stacked, with Cameron Ridley, Desure Buie, and Jacob Young, to name a few players. Give me Texas in this one.

Pick: Austin’s Own +1.5 (-115)

Air Raiders vs. Purple Hearts

The Air Raiders have gone 1-1 in The Basketball Tournament. They’re Texas Tech alumni with awesome stars like Matt Mooney, Tariq Owens, and Davide Moretti. They’ve got the experience because the Air Raiders will face Purple Hearts, who will first appear in the TBT this season. One of the standout players in Purple Hearts is Corey Sanders, but that team lacks in many areas compared to the Air Raiders.

Pick: Air Raiders -10.5 (-115)
