2023 Travelers Championship: Best Longshot Bets, Picks & Predictions
With last weekâs U.S. Open in the rear-view mirror, we now look forward to this weekâs Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut. TPC River Highlands will host this event, which it has done annually since 1984.
TPC River Highlands is a par-70, 6,852-yard track redesigned by Pete Dye in 1984. One of the shortest courses on TOUR, TPC River Highlands allows easy access to the greens, and based on previous leaderboards, differentiates those who can putt.
Below, I will give out my two best longshot bets to win the 2023 Travelers Championship.

2023 Travelers Championship: Best Longshot Bets
These plays are 0.3u and 0.15u, or 0.3% and 0.15% of your betting bankroll.
Harris English (+6600 via BetRivers): 0.3u
The first golfer we are targeting this week is Harris English, who currently sits at 66/1 via BetRivers. English is coming off a strong performance at last weekâs U.S. Open, where he finished T8 at the Los Angeles Country Club.
His putter deserves the credit for that placement, ranking first among the field in strokes gained putting. In fact, his putter has carried him all season, ranking 14th on TOUR in that key metric.
Therefore, it is not surprising that English has made eight of his past nine cuts with four Top 15 finishes over that stretch. This good form is likely to continue at TPC River Highlands, a course he dominated en route to his win here in 2021.
He has now made the cut in seven of his nine career appearances here, boasting four Top 25 finishes over that span. English looks to join Bubba Watson, Stewart Cink, Phil Mickelson and Peter Jacobsen as a multiple-time winner at this tournament since the turn of the century.
Denny McCarthy (+8000 via BetMGM): 0.15u
Another golfer to target this week is Denny McCarthy, who currently sits at 80/1 via BetMGM. Putting together a breakout campaign, he currently ranks 28th in the FedEx Cup Standings and boasts four Top 10 finishes.
Entering this week in tremendous form, McCarthy is coming off T20 finish at the U.S. Open and his runner-up performance at the Memorial Tournament. Additionally, he has made nine of his past 10 cuts, boasting six Top 20 finishes over that span.
Like English, McCarthyâs putter has been tremendous all season, ranking fourth on TOUR in strokes gained putting. He has been knocking on the door all season, and at 80/1, it is worth taking a shot on him to finally kick it down.
Best of luck!
