2023 Kentucky Derby Predictions: Forever Young

  • Post Position: 11
  • Odds: 10-1

Forever Young will be the latest Japanese-bred horse to enter the Kentucky Derby with plenty of hype. It helps that Forever Young hasn’t lost in five starts, including wins in the UAE Derby and Saudi Derby. However, we’ve seen plenty of international horses with similar accolades struggle at Churchill Downs. The son of Real Steel, Forever Young’s win at the UAE Derby came at 1 3/16 miles, which is just shy of the Kentucky Derby’s mile-and-a-quarter length.

While Japanese-bred horses have disappointed in the past, Forever Young could represent the country’s best shot at a Derby win.
