2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Cameron Smith

It’s Masters week, which means we’ll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that’s home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player’s course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year’s tournament has no shortage of compelling story lines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour — including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed — will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We’re going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

Course History

The Aussie Cameron Smith has scared a green jacket nearly every time he’s teed up at Augusta National. With four top-10 Masters finishes (three top-five), one could say Augusta suits his game extremely well. Smith’s short game, specifically his putting, is as good as it gets. These lightning-fast, tricky greens at Augusta require the exact delicate precision Smith has in spades with the flat stick.

Recent Form

It hasn’t been a stellar past few months for Cameron Smith on the LIV Tour. He withdrew after one round in Miami last week and hasn’t chased a win in a good while. One note is that he recently cut off the famed mullet, so we’ll see if he plays better with a breeze on the back of his neck.

Betting Outlook

It’s incredible to think a player of Cameron Smith’s caliber and history at the Masters is going off at more than 30-1 odds, but here we are. Still one of the world’s best from inside of 150 yards, Smith figures to be in the mix yet again this week. The LIV discount is real. Real profitable.
