2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Cameron Young

It’s Masters week, which means we’ll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that’s home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player’s course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year’s tournament has no shortage of compelling storylines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour – including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed – will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We’re going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

Course History

The 26-year-old Cameron Young will be making his third appearance at Augusta this weekend, and he’s looking to build on his best outing at Augusta, where he finished seventh (-6) in last year’s tournament. Young missed the cut in 2022 after shooting 77 in each of his first two rounds.

Recent Form

Young is coming off his best performance of the year at the Valspar Championship at the end of March, where he secured a second-place finish. The American had another top-five finish at the Cognizant Classic (fourth) earlier in March. It’s worth noting that half of Young’s eight tournaments in 2024 have seen him finish outside of the top 30, so it’s been a hit-or-miss campaign.

Betting Outlook

The inconsistent play of Young makes me wary of betting him this weekend. I’ll hold off on any Young bets, but let’s keep an eye on him this weekend and see if we can collect any solid information to use in future Masters tournaments.
