2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Hideki Matsuyama

It's Masters week, which means we'll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that's home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player's course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year's tournament has no shortage of compelling storylines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour - including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed - will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We're going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

Course History

Japan’s national golf treasure has been in the hunt at Augusta for a decade, and he claimed a green jacket in 2021 thanks to a third-round 65 to hold off Will Zalatoris by a shot. Matsuyama has finished in the top 20 in eight of his last 10 appearances, and he was low amateur in 2011. The 32-year-old seems to love it at The Masters.

Recent Form

Matsuyama comes into Augusta scorching hot, with five straight finishes of T25 or better. That includes a win at The Genesis Invitational and back-to-back top-10s at The Players Championship and the Valero Texas Open. You’d be hard-pressed to find a golfer playing as well as Matsuyama is right now.

Betting Outlook

Matsuyama will be at the top of my betting card. His odds range from +2000 to +2500 across various markets, so shop for the best number you can get. He’s an incredible value at that number and has an excellent chance to capture his second green jacket.
