2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Jason Day

It's Masters week, which means we'll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that's home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player's course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year's tournament has no shortage of compelling storylines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour - including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed - will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We're going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

Course History

Australia’s Jason Day will be making his 13th career start at The Masters. While Day has yet to put on a green jacket in Butler Cabin Sunday evening, he does have three top-five finishes. The problem is, the last time he was in contention was five years ago. Since then, he’s had a pair of missed cuts and a T39.

Recent Form

After battling back problems for quite a while, Day is as healthy as he has been in some time. In eight starts this season, Day has three top-10 finishes, but his last one was six weeks ago at the Genesis Invitational. Since then, the 36-year-old has a pair of top-40 finishes and a missed cut.

Betting Outlook

I’d love to say I can see Day in the mix on the weekend, but his recent form in 2024 and at Augusta has caused me to fade the Australian this week. If you’re a fan and want a vested interest, I wouldn’t argue with a small top-20 wager.
