2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Joaquin Niemann

It’s Masters week, which means we’ll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that’s home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player’s course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year’s tournament has no shortage of compelling storylines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour – including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed – will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We’re going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

Course History

Joaquin Niemann, the LIV golfer, has continued to improve at each showing at Augusta National. He missed his first cut in 2018 at The Masters and didn’t appear at the course again until 2021 when he made the cut for the first time before fizzling on Sunday with a 76 to tumble to 40th. He had a rough Moving Day in 2022, posting a 77, ending up 35th and not much of a contender for Sunday. However, he held his own in 2023, finishing 16th, and he might have had a top-10 finish if not for another rough Round 3.

Recent Form

Niemann finished ninth in the LIV Golf Miami at Trump National Doral Golf Course and has finished in the top 10 in each of his past three appearances. He picked up a win at the LIV Golf Jeddah in early March and Mayakoba in February. Niemann also won the DP World Tour’s ISPS Handa Australian Open back in early December.

Betting Outlook

Niemann is an interesting play with some rather long odds. The Chilean LIV golfer is a longshot to win The Masters, but he has continued to get much better over the years, and he has been playing good golf this season. Bettors might prefer to play him for a top-20 finish at near even-money, which he is a little more attractive of a play.
