2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Matthew Fitzpatrick

It's Masters week, which means we'll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that's home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player's course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year's tournament has no shortage of compelling storylines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour - including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed - will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We're going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

Course History

This will be Matthew Fitzpatrick’s 10th career appearance at Augusta. After missing the cut in his first year as a professional in 2014, the England native has made all eight cuts and finished in the top 10 twice. The 2016 U.S. Open champion has improved his finishing position in each of the last four years.

Recent Form

The 29-year-old Fitzpatrick has had a roller coaster of a year to this point. The Northwestern University product has missed three cuts in nine events but finished in the top 25 in five of the six events where he made the weekend. Fitzpatrick is coming off a fifth-place finish at THE PLAYERS Championship and a T10 at the Valero Texas Open.

Betting Outlook

At +4500, there’s a lot to like about Fitzpatrick. He’s clearly comfortable at Augusta and knows how to close out a Major championship. I’m not overly bullish on him, but I would hate to miss out on him at that number if he were to put it all together this week.
