2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Patrick Reed

It’s Masters week, which means we’ll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that’s home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player’s course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year’s tournament has no shortage of compelling storylines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour – including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed – will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We’re going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions

Stats to Know

  • Best Odds to Win: +8000 (ESPN BET, BetRivers)
  • World Ranking: 112
  • Best Masters Finish: 1 (2018)
  • Last Four Masters Finishes: 4, 35, 8, 10
  • Last Four Tournament Finishes: 9, 29, 37, 40

Course History

Patrick Reed has 10 Masters under his belt, and his best outing was an outright victory back in 2018. The now-33-year-old registered a -15 that year, shooting 69-66-67-71 over the four days. The American has continued to be competitive at the legendary course, racking up three top-10 victories over his last four years.

Recent Form

The veteran golfer is in his third year on the LIV circuit, and 2024 hasn’t been his finest stretch of golf. Reed is coming off his best outing at the LIV Golf Miami event, where he finished ninth. However, Reed finished 29th, 37th, 40th and 17th in the previous four tournaments. Statistically, Reed is 29th in greens in regulation percentage (67.04%) and 30th in birdies (3.67).

Betting Outlook

Anyone who has won a green jacket is worth a look from a betting perspective, in my opinion. I won’t be playing Reed to win the tournament outright, but I think there’s excellent value to lock him in at +190 to place inside the top 20. He’s done this four times in his career, including three of the last four years. Reed is also coming off his best LIV finish of the season, so it appears he’s finding his form at the right time.
