2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Rory McIlroy

It's Masters week, which means we'll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that's home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player's course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year's tournament has no shortage of compelling story lines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour — including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed — will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We're going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Course History

Rory McIlroy heads to Augusta National looking to complete the career grand slam in his 16th appearance at The Masters. It’s been feast or famine lately for the Northern Ireland golfer, missing the cut in two of his past three showings at Augusta, but also recording seven top-10 finishes in the past 10 years.

Recent Form

Rory McIlroy ranks second in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). He posted his best showing of the season at the Valero Texas Open, finishing third with an 11-under 277. Since finishing 66th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, he has improved in every finish of the season. He was 19th in the unofficial fifth major, THE PLAYERS Championship, before his first top-three finish in Texas.

Betting Outlook

For a chance to multiply your initial wager by 10, he is worth a roll of the dice for an outright win. A top-10 finish for McIlroy is also a strong play at plus-money at most shops. Strokes gained: off the tee is one of the key areas of focus at Augusta National, and McIlroy is one of the best in that area. He ranks fourth on the PGA Tour in the category. Strokes gained: tee-to-green is also important, and he checks in 19th. His putting is just so-so - an area that will make a huge difference. If he is strong on the putting surface this weekend, he can finally complete that elusive career grand slam.
