2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Scottie Scheffler

It's Masters week, which means we'll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that's home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player's course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.

This year's tournament has no shortage of compelling story lines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour — including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed — will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.

Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We're going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

Course History

Our first introduction to Scottie Scheffler on the major stage resulted in a dominant win at the 2022 Masters. He then followed it up with a top-10 finish last year. Augusta puts a premium on consistency from tee to green. Scheffler is easily the best in the world in that regard.

Recent Form

Scottie Scheffler is the world’s best golfer and also the hottest. With wins in two of his last three starts, nobody can remember the last time Scheffler finished outside the top 10 in an event.

Betting Outlook

It would be wild to look sideways at Scheffler’s chances this week, especially considering his recent form and dominant win at Augusta two years ago. He is the best ball-striker on the planet and has certainly found a putting stroke he can trust. The odds are short, but my confidence is not.
