2024 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Will Zalatoris
It's Masters week, which means we'll once again have the pleasure of watching the best golfers in the world take on the greatest golf course in the world, Augusta National.
Augusta is golf paradise, a stunning, immaculately groomed beauty that's home to some of the most iconic holes on the planet, including the par-3 12th and the par-5 13th. No other course tests a player's course-management skills and short game quite like Augusta.
This year's tournament has no shortage of compelling storylines. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is trying to extend his recent run of dominance and win his second Green Jacket. Young stars such as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay are hoping to break through and win at Augusta for the first time. The stars of the LIV Tour - including defending champion Jon Rahm and past champs Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed - will once again compete with their PGA Tour counterparts.
Welcome to the third annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We're going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the golfers with the best chances of earning the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Sit back and read on.

Course History
Will Zalatoris doesn't have the course history that some of the other players have, but what he does have in his small Augusta sample size has been very, very good. He made his debut at The Masters in 2021, and the Wake Forest product finished as a runner-up to Hideki Matsuyama. He followed that up with a sixth-place showing in 2022 in his most recent appearance.
Recent Form
Zalatoris was humming along with three straight finishes of 13th or better at the Farmers Insurance Open, the Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer, including a runner-up at Riviera and a fourth-place finish at Bay Hill. Things were looking up, but then he flamed out with a missed cut at THE PLAYERS Championship, the unofficial fifth Major. That halted a four-event streak of making the cut and playing into the weekend.
Betting Outlook
Zalatoris is a high-risk, high-reward player to bet at The Masters. Based on his course history, he is a player to target, as he has never finished lower than sixth in his two previous outings. The good news is that he ranks ninth on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: approach to green, one of the key stats of focus for Augusta National. However, he checks in 146th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting, well below the field average.
