2024 NBA All-Star Game Three-Point Contest Odds & Picks

On Saturday, February 17, the NBA will feature the 3-Point Contest, with Damian Lillard headlining the eight-man field.

Lillard will compete in the second event of the weekend against Malik Beasley, Tyrese Haliburton, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Trae Young, Lauri Markkanen, and Donovan Mitchell.

Lillard won the three-point contest last season, while Karl-Anthony Towns stunned the audience in 2022 with a 3-Point Contest win.

The rest of the 3-Point group hasn’t won the 3-Point Contest. Steph Curry has multiple wins, but he’ll face off against WNBA’s Sabrina Ionescu in another three-point shootout instead.

Below, we’ll throw out a couple of shooters we feel have the best chance of winning the 3-Point Contest this year.

Malik Beasley

Malik Beasley has only scored 11.4 points per game this year. He’s also shooting about 47% from the field and has attempted fewer threes than in his previous five seasons.

Still, he’s a career 38.6% three-point shooter and averages about three threes per game for the Bucks this year.

Beasley has always been good under pressure. He’s a better three-point shooter coming off screens and on handoff 3s. I could be overthinking this, but that’s kind of what the three-point contest is all about. Each rack he gets to is kind of him coming off the screen. Each ball he grabs off the rack is essentially a handoff, except he’s not moving.

Everyone’s excited about Dame Lillard’s potential in this year’s contest. But his teammate will move up the ladder in this contest.

Bet: Malik Beasley (+550)

Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson is a fantastic underdog story. All this guy does is win despite all of the doubters.

Despite winning multiple championships at Villanova, Brunson wasn’t even selected in the first round of the NBA Draft in his rookie season. When Brunson got his chance in the playoffs against the Utah Jazz with Luka Doncic out, Brunson showed up and proved that he could carry a team.

The Knicks signed him to a massive contract, and the analysts and doubters laughed at the Knicks for signing Brunson.

Now Brunson is an MVP and has put the Knicks on the map for the first time since Patrick Ewing.

So, I wouldn’t count Brunson out of anything. This guy is a competitor and knows how to win. He was even the National Player of the Year in his junior season at Villanova.

Brunson is shooting above 40% from three and has attempted a career-high 6.5 threes a game. He’s actually hit 40% or better in three of his last four seasons, and his volume keeps increasing.

If Brunson wins, he’d become the first Knicks player ever to win the 3-Point Contest. He’s been the savior for the New York. A trophy mid-season for the New York fanbase wouldn’t hurt.

Bet: Jalen Brunson (+600)
