Best 2024 NFL Draft Prop Bets

Over the last three NFL Draft cycles, I have locked in positive ROI each time — including 22.4% ROI on last year’s edition of this prop bet card. I am also 33rd/322 in Fantasy Pros’ NFL Mock Draft Accuracy contest during that same period.

Below are the bets I will place on the road to the draft. The reason to begin betting now is due to the shifting odds thanks to things like NFL Free Agency, the NFL Combine, and player trades. Creating your own betting windows to lock in profits. Now let’s get started.

All odds are from the following sportsbooks.

2024 NFL Draft Props

3rd Overall: J.J. McCarthy

  • Line: +800
  • Sportsbook: DraftKings
  • Date: 2/29
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: Being that J.J. McCarthy will be one of the few notable quarterbacks throwing at the combine this week, I am going to begin this NFL Draft cycle with a wager that he goes third overall. There has already been chatter about teams moving within the first three picks to potentially draft a quarterback, and while I don’t think McCarthy is the third-best passer in the class, there are plenty of scouts out there who like his film despite limited usage in the run-first Harbaugh system. If McCarthy shows out at the combine, these odds are almost certainly going to drop.

Eighth Overall: Rome Odunze

  • Line: +1500
  • Sportsbook: Fanduel/bet365
  • Date: 3/22
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: The Falcons may have traded for Rondale Moore following the tweet below, but even with Darnell Mooney and Moore the Falcons are not equipped for new Offensive Coordinator Zac Robinson. This may mean a mid-round receiver instead of Rome Odunze, but at +1500 odds it’s worth dropping a unit on.

Team to Draft Brock Bowers: Los Angeles Chargers

  • Line: +1000
  • Sportsbook: DraftKings
  • Date: 3/23
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: Whether the Chargers are drafting at 5 or 11 after trading with the Minnesota Vikings, they will have a strong likelihood of considering Bowers. In my most recent mock draft, I even laid out a plan that has them trading back up over the Jets to select him ninth overall. At the tight end position, they moved laterally from Gerald Everett to Will Dissly, so the need hasn’t subsided since the free agency period.

First Position for Kansas City Chiefs: Cornerback

  • Line: +350
  • Sportsbook: Caesars
  • Date: 3/23
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: After the L’Jarius Sneed trade, the Chiefs are suddenly in desperate need of cornerback help — with major free agents already signed. Several cornerbacks could either fall out of the middle of the first round (Wiggins, Dejean, McKinstry) or there are also a handful of sneaky names that NFL teams could like more than draftnik consensus (Lassiter, Rakestraw, Tampa).

First Position for Miami Dolphins: Defensive Lineman/EDGE

  • Line: +210
  • Sportsbook: DraftKings
  • Date: 3/23
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: Right now the Dolphins are favored to select an offensive lineman at -180, and that might be the most likely choice. But I do think that after the Isaiah Wynn re-signing it’s much closer to 50/50 that they select a defensive lineman or edge defender than the odds are letting on. Their interior defensive lineman corps is cornerstoned by Zach Sieler, but outside of him, there is not a single player that is both a full-time player and good by any stretch. Byron Murphy II and Johnny Newton are both in play and they could consider a BPA edge for the future.

Team to Draft Bo Nix: New York Giants

  • Line: +1300
  • Sportsbook: FanDuel
  • Date: 3/26
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: The Giants’ 2nd selection in this year’s NFL Draft is 47th overall, and with the recent buzz on J.J. McCarthy, it seems like they will be out of the top-four quarterback sweepstakes. Bo Nix has some intriguing peripherals but is an older prospect and a 5-year player. The Giants don’t want to start Daniel Jones this year, but they could in a pinch get Nix up to NFL speed. Not to mention, the Giants will likely have a new receiving weapon from their 6th-overall selection.

Top 5: Joe Alt

  • Line: +450
  • Sportsbook: FanDuel
  • Date: 3/29
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: The trade winds have been shifting away from the Chargers and more towards the Patriots and Commanders. It’s unlikely to have two trades into the top 5, barring some crazy quarterback-related fallout, so if the Chargers were to stick at their spot then Joe Alt is definitely in play. Not to mention, there may be an OT-needy team looking to leap the Chargers and trade with the Cardinals, who have been reportedly exploring trade-down opportunities.

Drake Maye Ladder 2nd/3rd/4th

  • Line: +125(MGM)/+900(FD)/+2000(FD)
  • Sportsbook: MGM/FanDuel
  • Date: 4/3
  • Units: 1/.5/.5
  • Notes: The Commanders have done their homework on Jayden Daniels more than any other quarterback. That could change, but I think the odds of Drake Maye being the 3rd or 4th quarterback drafted are now in the profitable range.

Drafted in 1st Round: Kinglsey Suamataia and Edgerrin Cooper

  • Line: +170/+330
  • Sportsbook: MGM/FanDuel
  • Date: 4/4
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: Kinglsey Suamataia has had top 30 visits with the Cowboys (24th overall), Chiefs (32nd), Patriots (34), and Texans (42nd). Not to mention there are other offensive line-needy teams like the 49ers, Ravens, Cardinals, and others at the bottom of the first round. Suamataia is 41st on NFL Mock Draft Database’s consensus big board. Also to follow the pre-draft visit data, Edgerrin Cooper is intriguing. I think that teams will really enjoy seeing that he led his position group with a 7.02 three-cone and 4.18 20-yard shuttle times at the combine. Cooper also received solid reviews from his pro day, where he only completed individual drills. He currently sits right behind Suamataia at 42nd on the consensus big board.

2nd Overall: Drake Maye

  • Line: +215
  • Sportsbook: DK
  • Date: 4/16
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: This bet is made in conjunction with our Drake Maye ladder. We are locking in profit if Maye is drafted between 2nd and 5th overall. If that doesn’t happen, I will be completely shocked.

6th Overall: Rome Odunze

  • Line: +340
  • Sportsbook: FD
  • Date: 4/22
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: There has been some recent steam about the Giants moving up for a quarterback. And while they certainly could, there are seemingly many players in the QB trade-up game right now. This is a bet predicated on quarterbacks going 1-4 with Marvin Harrison Jr. being drafted by the Chargers at 5th overall.

Bo Nix O32.5

  • Line: -175
  • Sportsbook: FD
  • Date: 4/22
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: This is mismatched from the market, where all other books have odds lower than -200 on Nix O32.5. My draft position model does not think that teams will value him as a first-round player. Not to mention, Michael Penix Jr. has been discussed more often as the QB5 of this draft class.

Lions First Position Drafted: Wide Receiver

  • Line: +500
  • Sportsbook: FD
  • Date: 4/22
  • Units: 1
  • Notes: This is a bit of a gut call. The Lions could certainly use another wideout, given that Jameson Williams doesn’t seem likely to develop at this point. Getting +500 here feels pretty solid, given there are several late-round options within this position group.
