2024 PGA Championship Odds & Picks: Brooks Koepka
Golf's biggest stars descend on Louisville, Kentucky, this week for the second major of the year, the 2024 PGA Championship, which will be played at Valhalla Golf Club.
This will be the fourth PGA Championship to be played at Valhalla, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course that opened in 1986. Mark Brooks won the first PGA at Valhalla in 1996. Tiger Woods outlasted Bob May in a memorable Valhalla duel to win the 2000 PGA Championship. And Rory McIlroy won the PGA here in 2014, edging Phil Mickelson by a stroke.
Brooks Koepka is the defending PGA Championship winner. He won by two strokes over Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler last year at Oak Hill. But Scheffler is the headliner this week. The No. 1 player in the world has been on fire this year, winning four of his last five events. Last month, Scheffler won the first major of 2024, The Masters, earning his second Green Jacket.

Course History
Brooks Koepka has won the PGA Championship three times. Heâs the defending champion after finishing -9 to win by two strokes last year at Oak Hill. Koepka played Valhalla back in 2014, when the club hosted the PGA Championship. The then-24-year-old finished -9, good enough for 15th overall. After shooting identical 71s through the first two rounds, Koepka turned it up a notch and recorded subsequent 66 and 67 rounds to close the tournament.
Brooks Koepka Recent Form
The three-time PGA winner will be making the long flight from Singapore (where the recent LIV event was held) to Louisville, as he captured his first win of the season this past weekend. There's no better recent form than winning a tournament, and Koepka is coming in on the highest note possible. Just prior, he logged another top-10 finish, placing ninth at the LIV Golf Adelaide event. Koepka is sixth in greens in regulation (74.34%) on the LIV Tour, which is a great sign of overall form.
Brooks Koepka 2024 PGA Championship Betting Outlook
If you're looking to make a bet on an outright winner this weekend, Koepka could be that guy. I'll have a few bucks on him, and if he's in contention later in the weekend, his elevated +1800 price should offer some decent hedge opportunities. The American is coming off an outright win on the LIV Tour, and as a veteran player, he also has a unique edge in that he's one of roughly 40 players who has tournament experience at Valhalla.
