2024 PGA Championship Odds & Picks: Wyndham Clark

Golf’s biggest stars descend on Louisville, Kentucky, this week for the second major of the year, the 2024 PGA Championship, which will be played at Valhalla Golf Club.

This will be the fourth PGA Championship to be played at Valhalla, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course that opened in 1986. Mark Brooks won the first PGA at Valhalla in 1996. Tiger Woods outlasted Bob May in a memorable Valhalla duel to win the 2000 PGA Championship. And Rory McIlroy won the PGA here in 2014, edging Phil Mickelson by a stroke.

Brooks Koepka is the defending PGA Championship winner. He won by two strokes over Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler last year at Oak Hill. But Scheffler is the headliner this week. The No. 1 player in the world has been on fire this year, winning four of his last five events. Last month, Scheffler won the first major of 2024, The Masters, earning his second Green Jacket.

Wyndham Clark Stats to Know

  • Best Odds to Win: +4000 (BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel)
  • World Ranking: 4
  • Best PGA Championship Finish: 75 (2021)
  • Last Four PGA Finishes: CUT, 75, CUT
  • Last Four Tournament Finishes: 29, 39, 1, 41

Course History

Wyndham Clark has made three appearances at the PGA Championship, making the cut just once. He should be a solid option at this course, as he has the length off of the tee to do damage. He is third on the PGA Tour with 313.8 yards per drive. While he hasn’t played a PGA Tour event at Valhalla, his game is well-suited to make some noise at this venue.

Wyndham Clark Recent Form

Clark picked up a victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in a star-studded field. He has finished fifth or better in three of his past six events. However, one of those “other” finishes was a missed cut at Augusta National, so he sort of knuckled under at the first major of the season.

Wyndham Clark 2024 PGA Championship Betting Outlook

Clark doesn’t have much of a history in the PGA Championship, certainly not at Valhalla, or in majors in general. However, he does come in on somewhat of a roll, including a runner-up finish in prestigious events like the Arnold Palmer at Bay Hill and THE PLAYERS Championship. If you’re looking for a long-shot bet to win, you could do much worse.
