2024 Tour Championship Odds & Picks: Ludvig Aberg

The PGA Tour season comes to an end this week with the Tour Championship at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

It's the final event of the three-event FedEx Cup Playoffs. At stake: the honor of being the FedEx Cup champion and a whole lot of money. The winner of the Tour Championship receives $25 million and a five-year PGA Tour exemption. Second place is worth $12.5 million. Every player in the 30-man field will earn at least $550,000.

The Tour Championship uses a unique "starting strokes" system that rewards players based on the number of FedEx Cup points accumulated so far this season. FedEx Cup points leader Scottie Scheffler will start at -10. No. 2 player Xander Schauffele starts at -8, No. 3 Hideki Matsuyama starts at -7, No. 4 Keegan Bradley starts at -6, and No. 5 Ludvig Aberg starts at -5. The rest of the field is sorted into groups of five, with groups starting at -4, -3, -2, -1 and even par. Bear in mind that betting odds for the Tour Championship take the starting strokes system into account.

Let's take a closer look at our top 2024 Tour Championship odds and picks for Ludvig Aberg.

Ludvig Aberg Tour Championship Course History

This will be Ludvig Aberg’s first appearance in the Tour Championship after a stellar sophomore season. East Lake requires precision off the tee, and that means the 24-year-old has a chance to walk away with the title. The Texas Tech product ranked 12th in strokes gained: off the tee and second in total driving for the 2024 season.

Ludvig Aberg Recent Form

After starting out the year blazing hot, Aberg has cooled of late. A T2 at the BMW Championship last week seems to have righted the ship after a disappointing T40 in Memphis at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. What’s concerning is that, outside of a second-round 63 last week, Aberg failed to shoot another sub-70 round when there were plenty of low scores out there all week.

Ludvig Aberg 2024 Tour Championship Betting Outlook

Starting five shots back before you get to the first tee is not how you want to start your tournament, but that’s the hill Aberg needs to climb if he wants to win this week. There’s no doubt the cool customer from Sweden has the talent and the mental game to make it happen, but does he have that killer instinct? I believe it’s in there, but I don’t think the flat stick does Aberg any favors this week. Aberg is someone I’d look at backing in the prop markets, but betting Aberg to beat the No. 1 player in the world by five shots is not something I’m willing to get behind.
