The PGA Tour season comes to an end this week with the Tour Championship at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

It's the final event of the three-event FedEx Cup Playoffs. At stake: the honor of being the FedEx Cup champion and a whole lot of money. The winner of the Tour Championship receives $25 million and a five-year PGA Tour exemption. Second place is worth $12.5 million. Every player in the 30-man field will earn at least $550,000.

The Tour Championship uses a unique "starting strokes" system that rewards players based on the number of FedEx Cup points accumulated so far this season. FedEx Cup points leader Scottie Scheffler will start at -10. No. 2 player Xander Schauffele starts at -8, No. 3 Hideki Matsuyama starts at -7, No. 4 Keegan Bradley starts at -6, and No. 5 Ludvig Aberg starts at -5. The rest of the field is sorted into groups of five, with groups starting at -4, -3, -2, -1 and even par. Sahith Theegala Tour Championship Course History

After failing to qualify for the Tour Championship a year ago, Sahith Theegala is back and looking to improve on his 28th-place finish in 2022. The 26-year-old was near the bottom of all statistical categories two years ago, but two seasons and a win at the 2023 Fortinet Championship later, the Pepperdine alum looks ready for a better showing at East Lake.

Theegala was inside the top 10 in the FedEx Cup rankings following his sixth-place finish at the 3M Open, but he has struggled the last two weeks, finishing dead last (outside of the pair of WDs) at last week’s BMW Championship. The third-year pro will need to find his putting stroke after losing nearly nine shots to the field on the greens last week.
