2024 Wyndham Championship: Odds, Picks & Predictions
The Olympic Games in Paris were very kind to us. Scottie Scheffler continues his storybook season with another incredible triumph on the golf course. Scheffler trailed by four strokes down the stretch on Sunday but reeled off a stellar back nine 29 to seize gold for our aggressive outright bet and for Team USA. Victor Perez was outstanding representing his French homeland, narrowly missing the medal podium but cashing in for us with a fourth-place finish. Canadian Corey Conners finished in a tie for ninth and registered another modest payout for his efforts.
The PGA Tourâs regular season culminates this week at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina. This particular tournament lacks a robust field of star golfers but does boast some interesting storylines entering the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Next weekâs FedEx St. Jude Classic will only feature the top 70 golfers in the standings, only half as many as in years prior. Many of the players descending on Sedgefield Country Club are on the playoff bubble, hoping to earn their way in with one final performance. Our job is to sift through this field in search of those who will rise to the occasion.

2024 Wyndham Championship: Odds, Picks & Predictions
(Odds Courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Sedgefield is a Donald Ross design on the short end at a touch more than 7,100 yards. The par-70 layout lacks notable hazards or pinch points, making the scoring conditions mostly favorable. It pays to be accurate off the tee here in order to attack flagsticks and cash in on the myriad birdie chances with short iron approach shots. In addition to birdie or better percentage, approach proximity metrics from 175 yards and inward are heavily weighted in my statistical modeling. It also pays to be riding a hot putter. Defending champion Lucas Glover flipped his reputation as a lousy putter on its head to set the course ablaze.
Hurricane Debby is making landfall this week on the mid-Atlantic coast, adding a bit of a wrinkle to the first two rounds of play. It will be interesting to see how much golf is played in wet and windy conditions, along with in the stormâs wake. Either way, scoring will be furious on the softened course. With an eye to the sky and tar on my heels, letâs tee off.
Si Woo Kim
The stunning development in Si Woo Kimâs 2024 season has been his uncharacteristic consistency. Kim is an outstanding ball striker and has lit this golf course up quite a few times, with four top-five finishes and a victory in 2016. Si Wooâs weakness has always been a streaky short game, but he obviously has found something that works at Sedgefield over the years. I will be more aggressive with him and use more of a bird-shot approach as I venture down the board.
Picks: Outright +2200 [1u]; Top-5 +450 [1u]; Top-10 +240 [1u]
Cam Davis
We know Australian Cam Davis can win a scoring fest. His triumph at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the end of June was telling because it was on a golf course of similar length and field difficulty. Davis was stellar that week. He used exemplary ball striking and timely putting to take it home at 18-under par. The Aussie is near the top of my rankings again this week. He also finished in a tie for seventh at last yearâs Wyndham. 40-1 odds is a great value.
Picks: Outright +4000 [0.5u]; Top-10 +400 [0.5u]
Victor Perez
I will continue to ride the hot hand with the Frenchman Perez. He is a really strong short iron player, evidenced by his tie for 10th at the Scottish Open and the aforementioned performance at Le Golf National in the Olympics. Both of those courses put a premium on driving accuracy and proximity on approach. As much as he has struggled in difficult conditions, he has flourished in easy ones. He gained a whopping six strokes on the field putting at the Scottish and it was his flat stick that carried him last week. He also gained nine strokes on the field on the greens in his third place finish at the RBC Canadian Open in June. Perez is a stellar value this week at 60-1.
Picks: Outright +6000 [0.5u]; Top-10 +500 [0.5u]
Michael Thorbjornsen
Betting on rookies is giving me some (more) gray hairs. I still refuse to miss out on Michael Thorbjornsenâs ascent to greatness. He has missed two consecutive cuts after nearly winning the John Deere Classic but has gained strokes on approach each time. He has shown some difficulty adjusting to reading the more complex greens at this level, but the Wyndham Championship is hardly a course with tricky nuance on the short grass. Soft conditions will further reduce the degree of difficulty, enhancing Thorbjornsenâs strength with a short iron in his hand.
Picks: Outright +9000 [0.5u]; Top-20 +350 [0.5u]
Deep Shots: Bud Cauley & Greyson Sigg
Bud Cauley is as volatile as they come on Tour. He has some tournaments where his approach game is on point, with others where he looks completely rudderless. His putting is just as streaky. Cauley is a birdie-maker, especially on golf courses under 7,200 yards. He has also enjoyed some decent results at the Wyndham Championship. In fact, his best metrics of any professional start have occurred here. Iâll take a shot at 200-1, along with some hope that he can finish in the top 20 (+550).
Greyson Sigg is even more radioactive than Cauley. He is sporting 300-1 odds to win outright, down from 350-1 on Monday. He has missed four consecutive cuts and is among the worst putters on Bermuda greens who can be found. Sigg is simply an outstanding marksman from the predominant approach distances at Sedgefield. He also gained 1.5 strokes putting at last yearâs Wyndham in a 38th place finish. Iâll take a shot at his placement odds for top 20 (+800) and top 30 (+450).
