2025 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Max Homa

It’s Masters week, arguably the best week of the year for fans of professional golf. The Masters is a rite of spring and the unofficial start of golf season in America.

The best players in the game will take on what many regard as the best and most gorgeous golf course in the world, Augusta National. But Augusta is a treacherous beauty that challenges players with lightning-fast greens, severe elevation changes, narrow passages between trees, and scorecard-wrecking water hazards and bunkers.

Can the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, win his third Green Jacket in four years? Is this finally Rory McIlroy's year? Or will a young star such as Ludvig Aberg or Collin Morikawa prevail at Augusta. And let's not forget about the LIV Tour players. Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed and Sergio Garcia are among the LIV players who have won The Masters before. Maybe it's Bryson DeChambeau's turn this year.

Welcome to the fourth annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We’re going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the players contending for the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Read on for our 2025 Masters predictions for Max Homa.

Course History

It took Max Homa a while to get comfortable at Augusta, but he broke the ice last year in his fifth Masters appearance, tying for third at -4. His opening-round 67 was his best single-round score at Augusta. In 16 career Masters rounds, Homa has posted only four scores below par. He missed the cut in his first two Masters appearances in 2020 and 2021, then finished 48th in 2022 and 43rd in 2023.

Recent Form

There’s not sugarcoating it: Homa’s 2025 season has been an unmitigated disaster to this point. After finishing fifth on the 2022-2023 money list and finishing top 25 in 8-of-22 PGA Tour events last season, Homa has collapsed. He’s missed the cut in five consecutive events, including last week’s Valero Texas Open. The only event in which he’s mnade the cut this year was January’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he finished 53rd. Almost no element of Homa’s game is working at the moment. There aren’t many statistical categories where he ranks inside the top 100 on tour. Homa also just parted ways with his longtime caddie and childhood friend Joe Greiner and has a new man on his bag, Bill Harke.

Betting Outlook: 2025 Masters Predictions

Homa is so utterly lost right now that it would be foolhardy to back him. In fact, the best way to make money on Homa this week is to fade him. He’s -130 to miss to cut on DraftKings. Considering that he’s shot 75 or worse in six of his last 10 rounds, I think a missed-cut wager on Homa provides excellent value.
