2025 Masters Odds, Picks & Predictions: Thomas Detry

It’s Masters week, arguably the best week of the year for fans of professional golf. The Masters is a rite of spring and the unofficial start of golf season in America.

The best players in the game will take on what many regard as the best and most gorgeous golf course in the world, Augusta National. But Augusta is a treacherous beauty that challenges players with lightning-fast greens, severe elevation changes, narrow passages between trees, and scorecard-wrecking water hazards and bunkers.

Can the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, win his third Green Jacket in four years? Is this finally Rory McIlroy's year? Or will a young star such as Ludvig Aberg or Collin Morikawa prevail at Augusta? And let's not forget about the LIV Tour players. Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed and Sergio Garcia are among the LIV players who have won The Masters before. Maybe it's Bryson DeChambeau's turn this year.

Welcome to the fourth annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We’re going to examine the many wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the players contending for the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Read on for our 2025 Masters predictions for Thomas Detry.

Course History

The 33-year-old Belgian golfer is a debutante at Augusta National, so he is a bit of a wild card. The good news is that Thomas Detry has made the cut in each of his past five appearances in a major.

Recent Form

Detry didn’t turn much of a profit at the Texas Children’s Houston Open last time out in late March, tumbling down the leaderboard with a finish-round 1-over 71 to settle for a t-47th finish. Still, he has made the cut in each of his past two events, and he picked up his first-career PGA Tour victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in early February, tearing up TPC Scottsdale in a star-studded field for a 24-under 260.

Detry isn’t strong in the short game, ranking 101st in Strokes Gained: Approach to Green and 77th in Greens In Regulation. But, he is solid off the tee box and on the putting surface.

Betting Outlook: 2025 Masters Predictions

It’s never a good idea to back a debutante for the outright win, as younger and inexperienced players could be a bit intimidated in their first appearance at the prestigious course. Of course, sometimes golfers don’t know any better, or they positively use that nervous energy, doing good things they have no real business doing.

Still, Detry has just a single PGA Tour victory, so backing him to win outright is a foolish bet. However, you can triple up (+300) for a top-20 finish by Detry and (-140) for a top-40 finish is still an attractive price point.
