2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld Golf Odds & Picks: Head-to-Head Matchups

The Mexico Open at VidantaWorld is set for the fourth edition of this PGA Tour event from the western shores of Mexico. Played on a par 71 track that runs over 7,400 yards, VidantaWorld has five par 3s and four par 5s, with expansive fairways and platinum paspalum grass surfaces, running 11 feet via Stimpmeter. Rough stands at 2.5 inches and there aren’t a ton of hazards, asides from deep bunkers to contend with, which is why scoring tends to be at this course.

My Genesis Invitational Head-to-Head Matchups went 0-2 at Torrey Pines South this past weekend. The Mexico Open offers a great bounce-back spot with 132 golfers, most of them not household names, competing for a chance to finally break through with an outright win on one of the PGA Tour’s most forgiving tracks at VidantaWorld.

Here are my favorite head-to-head wagers to place ahead of Round 1 teeing off on Thursday morning at the 2025 Mexico Open. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more PGA free bets and weekly analysis throughout the 2025 PGA Tour season.

Tournament Group – Bhatia v R. Hojgaard v Kitayama v Stevens v Rodgers

The Tournament Group betting market is comprised of five golfers in this field, which is why we’re getting good odds on the favorites to win these prop matchups. Akshay Bhatia is where we’ll start, especially since he’s the outright winner betting favorite at +1400 odds.

This is the second time Bhatia is making his appearance at VidantaWorld, previously posting a solo-fourth place finish in 2023. He’s grouped with Rasmus Hojgaard, who is struggling mightily with his putter right now, as well as Kurt Kitayama, Samuel Stevens, and Patrick Rodgers.

It may not be a sweat-free wager but Bhatia profiles well at VidantaWorld based on his top-35 ranked ability to find greens in regulation, while ranking 12th in strokes gained putting. His driver has been erratic in 2025 but the wide paspalum fairways should help alleviate this weakness.

Let’s bet a unit on the outright winner and betting favorite in this prop to come through and beat these other golfers with the lowest scorecard by the end of Sunday’s final round.

Pick: Akshay Bhatia (+260)

Tournament Group – Rai v B. Griffin v Yu v Norgaard v Olesen

Aaron Rai has yet to get going in 2025 after posting his first PGA Tour win at the tail end of last season. The Englishman is among the best ball-strikers in this event but it hasn’t showed up yet in his metrics, ranking 106th strokes gained: approach. He’s 10th in driving accuracy, 37th in putting average, a big improvement from 2024, and placed T19 at this event last season.

I like Rai as the betting favorite to win this tournament group at +280 odds primarily due to the golfers he’s paired against. Ben Griffin, Kevin Yu, and Thorbjorn Olesen have all shown the ability to contend at events throughout their career, even at VidantaWorld in 2024. However, their current form is not great and I believe Rai’s ball-striking will show up in warmer temperatures with bigger greens and shorter rough.

Let’s bet one more unit on Rai to win this Tournament Group prop as the favorite at +280 odds. He’s got one T20 finish in 2025, going T15 at Sentry, which is a comparable course that provided ample birdie opportunities. He’s the best in this group by my estimation, so let’s back him in this market before the odds shorten after Round 1.

Pick: Aaron Rai (+280)
