(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Johni Broome Over 19.5 Points (-115)
Johni Broome didn’t break 20 in an earlier matchup against the Florida Gators during the regular season. Despite his injury, he’s vowed to play better in this game, and I believe him.
After all, Broome has scored at least 20 points in 54% of games this season. He’s also hit this line in six of his last 10 games after scoring 25 against Michigan State in the Elite Eight.
Ultimately, the Gators rank 288th in points allowed to forward/center players. This is the one position where Florida is typically worse defensively. Look for Broome to take advantage. He’ll have the ball in his hands plenty of times and should end up being the shots leader for Auburn tonight.
Alex Condon Over 1.5 Assists (-135)
Alex Condon has recorded at least two assists in 66% of games this season. He’s also added at least two assists in three of his last five games and six of his last 10 games.
Furthermore, he added four assists in that earlier game against Auburn, where Florida scored 90 points in a 90-81 victory.
Ultimately, the Auburn Tigers rank 234th in assists allowed to forward/center players this season. Conversely, Condon has averaged 2.2 assists per game over his last 10 games.
Again, Florida scored 90 points on the road against Auburn in an earlier regular-season matchup. This could become another high-scoring game, especially if Walter Clayton Jr. and Johni Broome each get after it and have big games.
I like Condon to add at least two assists.
Cooper Flagg Under 17.5 Points (-104)
The Duke Blue Devils haven’t faced a defense like the Houston Cougars this season. Houston’s defense has limited guard/forward players to 8.3 points per game, which ranks 22nd in college basketball.
Houston likes to slow the pace down and play in the half-court. This will help limit Duke’s possessions and the number of times Cooper Flagg can beat them.
Flagg has shot 39.3% from three over the last 10 games and 47% from the field in that span. However, Houston has held teams to 30.1% from deep and 44.5% from inside the arc while forcing opponents to use 18.7 seconds per possession.
Ultimately, Flagg was the nation’s best player. But he’s still a freshman and could struggle a bit against Houston’s aggressive style of defense. After all, Flagg has added at least 18 points in just three of his last 10 games.
He has the hardest matchup of his college basketball career tonigt. Take the under.
