This is a tough matchup because these two teams have been my favorites to watch, and I have each of them in my two bracket pools. In that regard, I’m in good shape.
I want to put us all in a position to cash in on the National Championship game.
This game will come down to the wire one way or another, but ultimately, Houston pulls out the victory. Houston’s defense is ferocious and will wear down the best of them. We saw this exact thing happen two nights ago against Duke, where Duke managed just one field goal in the final 10 minutes.
The good news for Florida is that they are one of the deepest teams in the country and have a few players that can step up when needed, like Alijah Martin. He exceeded his point total last game, and his run with FAU a few years back gives him the experience to do so again if called upon.
Houston's game plan should be to contain Walter Clayton Jr. as best as possible. If Florida wants to win this game, players like Clayton and Martin will need to make some big shots.
Houston's offense goes as L.J. Cryer goes. If Cryer has the game he had against Duke, Florida may be in trouble. He is the engine of this Cougars team. The Houston point guard can light up a scoreboard on any given night. We saw this when he scored 26 points against Duke, going 6-for-9 from three-point land.
