2025 Women's NCAA Tournament Predictions: Sweet 16 (Friday)
(Odds Courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
No. 2 Duke Blue Devils (-5.5) vs. No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels (+176)

Duke-North Carolina Same-Game Parlay
Duke and North Carolina split the season series, with UNC winning early in the year and Duke late. I expect this game to look more like the late-season one, which Duke won 68-53. The Blue Devils’ defense will lead the way again in another low-scoring affair.
Parlay Odds: +225
No. 4 Maryland Terrapins (+1260) vs. No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks (-17.5)
- Time: 5:00 p.m. EST

Joyce Edwards Over 14.5 Points (-108) & Joyce Edwards to Score 20+ (+360)
Maryland and South Carolina are two of the better offenses in Women's College Basketball, but there is a significant difference between the two teams. South Carolina plays solid defense (No. 33, 57.3 points per game allowed) and Maryland does not (No. 298, 70.5 points per game allowed).
Joyce Edwards averaged 13.2 points per game during the season. In two tournament games so far, she scored 22 points vs. Tennessee Tech, but only five vs. Indiana. I consider the Indiana game an exception to the rule when it comes to Edwards and expect the young freshman to take advantage of Maryland's defense. Asking for 20+ may be pushing it, but I'd say there's value here and worth some serious thought.
Kaylene Smikle Under 18.5 Points (-125)
Kaylene Smikle averaged 18 per game during the season and scored 20+ in both NCAA Tournament games, but Maryland has not faced a defense like South Carolina's. Since she's the team's leading scorer, I'm sure South Carolina will focus on taking her out of the game.
No. 3 LSU Tigers (-3.5) vs. No. 2 NC State Wolfpack (+138)
- Time: 7:30 p.m. EST
- Coverage: ESPN
Aneesah Morrow Under 20.5 Points (-114) & Aneesah Moorow Over 12.5 Rebounds (-132)
Aneesah Morrow averaged 18.5 per game this season but scored 20+ in three of her last five games. However, NC State has been playing solid defense, allowing just 55 and 49 points to their tournament opponents. LSU is a much stronger offensive team than Vermont and Michigan State. Morrow scored 18 or fewer points in eight of her last 11 games. I’m not confident she'll score 20+ in this game.
While NC State is a decent rebounding team, Morrow led the country in boards this season at 13.5 per game. She had 11 vs. Florida State and 12 vs. San Diego State. With the Final Four within reach, she'll be a beast on the boards.
No. 5 Ole Miss Rebels (+290) vs. No. 1 UCLA Bruins (-8.5)
- Time: 10:00 p.m. EST
- Coverage: ESPN
Lauren Betts to Record 10+ Rebounds (-112) & Lauren Betts to Record 12+ Rebounds (+235)
UCLA is one of the better rebounding teams in the country, and Lauren Betts is a big part of the reason why. She averaged 9.7 per game this season but had 14 vs. Richmond and only six vs. Southern. Ole Miss is not a bad rebounding team, so she'll have competition on the boards. However, the Rebels are not strong on the defensive boards (No. 271, 23.3 per game).
Betts pulled down nine of her 14 rebounds against Richmond on the offensive end.
Her total is set at 9.5 (-114). If you think she'll go over, you might as well go with 10+ since it has better odds. However, UCLA has a chance to do something no other team in program history has done - make the Final Four. UCLA will not be denied. Ole Miss will not stop them.
Betts will dominate the boards in this game, making 12+ rebounds at +235 a solid value play.
