49ers vs. Seahawks: NFL Thursday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Props (Week 15)

This Thursday, the 49ers and Seahawks will play in a game with serious playoff implications in the NFC West. San Francisco comes in leading the division at 9-4, while Seattle comes in at 7-6. The Seahawks have a puncher’s chance at winning the division if they can pull off the upset, but the 49ers have it nearly wrapped up if they win.

These two offenses have star players and opportunities to produce, and there are a few TD props with value for this game. Here are three that I’ll be playing on Thursday.

Jauan Jennings Anytime TD (+245 DraftKings)

After Deebo Samuel got carted off the field last week, 49ers fans feared the worst. It appears he avoided serious injury, but he won’t be back in time to take on the Seahawks on Thursday night. This opens up an opportunity for increased playing time for Jauan Jennings. Jennings hasn’t had a huge year, but he’s been productive in spurts. This includes a game against the Saints three weeks ago where he caught 6-of-7 targets for 49 yards and a TD.

With Samuel out and Brock Purdy at the helm, I expect Jennings to get looks at a score on Thursday. This is especially true with star rookie CB Tariq Woolen covering Brandon Aiyuk. If Woolen is able to neutralize Aiyuk, there’s a good chance Jennings will be the main beneficiary.

Seattle has defended WRs well this year, but given the odds on Jennings to score and the matchups on the board, this is a longshot worth taking.

DK Metcalf Anytime TD (+165 FanDuel)

The 49ers’ defense hardly has any weak points, but they’re relatively worse at defending WRs than any other position. They’ve allowed 10 TDs to opposing WRs in 13 games – this puts them in the bottom quarter of the league, but it also represents the weakest facet of their exceptional defense. I expect the Seahawks to attack this weakness on Thursday night.

No Seattle player is better positioned to take advantage than DK Metcalf. Metcalf leads the entire NFL in red zone targets, with 22 in 13 games. He has at least five catches in each of his last six games and has a TD in four of those six games. When Seattle needs a big play or gets into scoring territory, they call Metcalf’s number.

In a game that I expect Seattle to trail in, I think they’ll have plenty of volume in the passing game. Given Metcalf’s dominant target share in the red zone and production in recent weeks, he’s in a good spot to be the most productive Seattle WR on Thursday. While the 49ers’ defense is tough to bet against, the price on this prop makes it a good bet.

Christian McCaffrey Anytime TD (-160 FanDuel)

In this matchup, McCaffrey’s TD prop is my favorite bet. I love both the -160 anytime TD prop offered and the +440 first TD prop, but I’m going with the safer play here. McCaffrey has scored in four of his last six games with the 49ers and has seen an uptick in volume since Elijah Mitchell’s injury with 41 opportunities in the last two weeks. He’s unequivocally one of the best RBs in the NFL and a threat to score every time he touches the ball.

On Thursday McCaffrey will go against a Seahawks defense that has allowed 16 TDs in 13 games to opposing RB. This ranks second-worst in the NFL. Given McCaffrey’s recent workload, the Seahawks’ inability to stop RBs from scoring, and the fact that the 49ers will likely be ahead in this game, things are setting up for a TD for McCaffrey. The odds on this play are short, but I think there’s still great value here.
