Two-time major champion Justin Thomas is looking to snap an ugly streak at the majors. Over his last five major championships, the American has finished no better than T37 while missing two cuts. On top of the struggles on the big stage, the 30-year-old simply hasn’t been playing his best golf. Thomas has missed the cut in three of his last four tournaments and only has a pair of top-20 finishes in his last eight outings. One of the key issues that I see with Thomas is his inability to drive accurately. His 56.8% driving accuracy is just 127th on the tour. Considering the deep grass off the fairways at Royal Liverpool, that’s not a stat that makes me confident in backing him.

It’s his recent form that has me wary of backing him in any big-time capacity. It has been a roller-coaster campaign for Morikawa, who over his last four tournaments has withdrawn from an event, missed a cut, and lost in a playoff.
