NFL Week 6 Best Bets Highlights:

  • Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears: The trends are clear in international games: offenses often struggle, and games tend to go under the total. With Jacksonville having gone under the total in their last six neutral venue games and the Bears following suit in four of their last six, this matchup seems destined to continue the under trend. The Jaguars may have had an offensive spark against the Colts, but historically, they tend to perform well against weaker defenses like Indianapolis. The smart play here? Bet the under at 44.5.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints: With the Saints missing Derek Carr, New Orleans will rely on a rookie quarterback facing a formidable Buccaneers defense known for its heavy blitz packages. Tampa Bay has a golden opportunity to capitalize on this, but New Orleans’ defense remains challenging, making points hard to come by. The under (set at 41) looks appealing, with one of our experts even suggesting the bold bet of "no touchdown scored." Expect a low-scoring affair.
  • Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals: Jordan Love is poised for a bounce-back game as the Packers take on the Cardinals, coming off a massive upset over the 49ers. Green Bay is a 5-point favorite, but the line feels too low, considering Arizona’s inconsistency. With the Packers healthy, featuring a deep receiving corps including Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed, expect them to spread the ball effectively and cover the spread. This game could be a letdown spot for the Cardinals, making Green Bay the safer bet.

What is Betting Against the Spread?

Betting "against the spread" refers to the act of choosing the winning team based on a numeric handicap placed on the team that oddsmakers believe is superior, rather than picking the outright winner. For example, if the Rams face the Bengals, and oddsmakers set the spread at Rams -3.5, you would need Los Angeles to win by 4 or more points in order to cash your Rams bet.

What is an Over/Under Bet?

Over/Under is a wager based on how many points you think will be scored in a specific game. Oddsmakers set the total, and bettors decide whether the final score will be higher or lower than that number. If an Over/Under is set at 44.5 points and you bet Over, you will need the combined score of both teams to be 45 points or higher to win your bet.

What is a Moneyline Bet?

A moneyline bet involves choosing which team you believe will win a specific matchup. The moneyline favorite carries a minus designation, like -130. This means that you need to wager $130 to earn a $100 profit. Conversely, the underdog carries a plus designation, like +110. This means that you win $110 in profit on a $100 bet.
