Best NBA Player Prop Bets Picks & Predictions: 76ers vs. Celtics (10/18)

The NBA is back! After 124 days of waiting, basketball is in action, highlighted tonight by Lakers-Warriors and 76ers-Celtics games. I’ll be here each week to provide my best player props and win you some money this NBA season. If you pay attention, betting on the NBA can be quite lucrative. Some simple advice includes keeping track of injury news or minute limits and shopping around to find the best odds.

Here are my three favorite player props for Tuesday, Oct. 18. And here’s my top pick for 76ers vs. Celtics.

Best NBA Player Prop Bets Picks & Predictions: 76ers vs. Celtics

James Harden OVER 5.5 rebounds (-130)

Is it James Harden’s MVP season?

Probably not.

Still, I am in on this Philadelphia 76ers team and expect Harden to have a bounce-back year, coming off a mediocre 2021-22 campaign. The 33-year-old mentioned how he wasn’t fully healthy last season, and we saw the struggles of that on the floor. He also said how excited he is to be in Philly and bring in talent around him.

You always have to take what a coach or player says with a grain of salt. However, if we’re reading between the lines, not only should a bounce-back year be in the making for Harden, but a well-rounded one that goes beyond his scoring. The betting market seems to agree with the lefty guard being back as all three of his scoring, rebounding and assists props are minus money towards the over.

With that said, his rebounding prop I see as one of the better values on the slate, despite being at -130. I expected this number to be at 6.5 or even 7.0 with the same odds, so you are still getting a discount and roughly an expected value of +32 percent.
