Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev: UFC 282 Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions (2022)

UFC 282 has seen plenty of changes to the fight card, but it is set in stone. Jan Blachowicz is fighting Magomed Ankalaev for the light heavyweight title. Glover Teixeira was offered the fight against Ankalaev but turned it down due to the short time to train for a different style. The entire card is stacked from top-to-bottom and even features a bout between two undefeated fighters. It should be an exciting card in front of a large crowd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and the early prelims begin at six p.m. EST, and the main card starts at 10 p.m. EST.

Leg 1: Raul Rosas Jr. money line (-245)

Raul Rosas Jr. is only 18 years old and will become the youngest fighter to enter the UFC octagon on Saturday. He will be fighting Jay Perrin, who is on a two-fight losing streak since joining the UFC. Perrin has two losses in Bellator, so at the high-level promotions, he did not perform well. Rosas Jr. is much better on the ground than Perrin and has shown good composure in the cage despite his age. He will want to take this fight to the mat because his striking is a work in progress. Perrin has defended just 64% of takedowns and lost by submission once in his career. Rosas, via submission, is the most likely outcome of this fight, but he can also grind a decision victory from top control once he gets the takedown.

Leg 2: Dricus Du Plessis money line (-180)

The top ten rankings in the middleweight division may have a new face if Dricus Du Plessis can get the victory over Darren Till. Both men are known for striking and will likely keep this fight standing. Du Plessis lands 6.55 significant strikes per minute while only absorbing 4.23 strikes per minute, so he lands punches in volume. He has won three consecutive fights since entering the UFC, with two knockouts. Till has lost four of his last five bouts, albeit to the upper tier of the division. He lands 2.26 significant strikes per minute and absorbs 3.02 strikes per minute.

Till will want to slow the pace of this fight and pick Du Plessis apart from range, but Du Plessis will push the action. It is an important fight for the careers of both guys, but I expect Du Plessis to get his hand raised. His most likely path to victory is via knockout, which is how Till lost to Masvidal in 2019.

Leg 3: Paddy Pimblett money line (-245)

Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett is slowly becoming one of the most recognizable faces in the UFC, and he has another chance to put on a show on Saturday. His opponent is 34-year-old Jared Gordon, who owns a seven-and-four record in the UFC. Paddy has a five-inch reach advantage, which will come into play inside the octagon. Paddy has won six fights via knockout and nine via submission and can finish the bout in either capacity. Gordon has been submitted once in his career but has lost by knockout four times. Gordon and Pimblett absorb about three significant strikes per minute, but Gordon lands 5.53 strikes, and Paddy lands 4.19 strikes per minute. The reach advantage should negate some of Gordon’s offense, however.

In Gordon’s three knockout losses inside the UFC, he had a substantial reach disadvantage in two of them. Charles Oliveira and Diego Ferreira both had a six-inch reach advantage over Gordon and knocked him out in the first round. Paddy has said that he choked Gordon out twice in training, but striking is where his advantage lies. Pimblett has too many paths to victory, while Gordon must make it dirty and grind his way to a decision victory.
