Bruins vs. Maple Leafs: NHL Playoffs Same Game Parlay Picks (Monday)

The NHL Stanley Cup playoffs have provided plenty of entertainment and we’re in store for more during Monday’s four-game slate. We’ll focus on the first game, featuring the Boston Bruins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, constructing a two-leg Same Game Parlay to wager at plus odds.

Our first SGP article for this series came close, but unfortunately, David Pastrnak didn’t light the lamp to cash a +418 SGP in Game 1. He did come close during the end, involved with an assist on a breakaway goal in the waning minutes of a 5-1 rout against the Maple Leafs. The Bruins won the first period outright at +170, the fifth consecutive time they’ve accomplished that feat against Toronto, and they also won by four goals to cash their -130 moneyline odds easily. In hindsight, opting for Pastrnak to record a point would’ve been the safer play, albeit with shorter odds.

Now, we’re back with a two-leg SGP with great odds that warrants a one-unit wager to be staked during Game 2 on Monday night between Boston and Toronto. Make sure to follow me @Matt_MacKay_ on X to get more free plays, NHL Prop Bets, and NHL best bets during the week.

Monday's NHL SGP

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Leg 1: Boston Bruins Puck Line -1.5 (+188)

The first leg we’re adding into our Same Game Parlay is Boston to cover the puck line as favorites. We’re getting +188 odds for the Bruins to win by two or more goals, which they’ve done in three consecutive contests against Toronto. Ilya Samsonov is not a good netminder and the Bruins’ smothering defense and quality goaltending make this a great value to acquire at nearly 2-1 odds. Toronto has also failed to cover the puck line in five straight games, so this is a great way to boost our SGP into plus odds on the first leg.

Leg 2: Under 7.5 Total Goals (-430)

To get our Same Game Parlay above +200 odds, we’re heading to the alternate total goals market and selecting under 7.5 total goals as the second leg. Jeremy Swayman allowed only one goal on 36 shots faced during Game 1 and he’s slated to return to the crease again at TD Garden on Monday night. All of the five previous head-to-head matchups between the Bruins and Maple Leafs have gone under eight total goals, which is why oddsmakers have juiced this line to -430. It’s a strong pick to close out our chances of winning this Same Game Parlay during the second games of this Eastern Conference playoff series.

Same Game Parlay Odds: +264

At +264 odds, we’re relying on Boston to cover the puck line at -1.5, winning by at least two goals, while the other half is predicated on under eight total goals being scored in Game 2. Toronto’s offense is very good when it’s humming, but at the moment, the Maple Leafs are in a lull.

They have scored two or fewer goals in two of their past three games played, including during Game 1, plus Swayman has been rock solid in the net, allowing two or fewer goals in three of his past four starts. The Bruins should continue to own this series on home ice and manufacture a similar outcome to their 5-1 win that we saw on Saturday night.
