It’s a Pacific Division showdown to finish up the night as the Canucks take on the Sharks in San Jose. This one’s set for 10:30 p.m. ET and sees the sixth and seventh-ranked teams in the division face off for the second time this year. Vancouver notched a 4-3 win in the opener in San Jose on November 27th, thanks to an Andrei Kuzmenko overtime winner.
I like for the Canucks to take care of business again tonight and grab another win on the road. It’s been all offense for Vancouver this year, as they come in with the seventh-best offense (3.5 gpg) while owning the 30th-ranked defense (3.69 opposing gpg). The Canucks will likely elect to turn this one into a high-flying, trading chances type of game like usual. If they can establish their style of play, they should have no issue outpacing a Sharks team that’s scoring just 2.9 goals per game (24th). Additionally, it’s confirmed that Kaapo Kahkonen will get the nod between the pipes for the Sharks tonight. He’s struggled this season and comes in at 3-6-2 with a 3.57 GAA and .882 SV%.
