Chargers vs. Colts: Monday Night Football Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions (Week 16)

After suffering the largest blown lead in NFL history in Week 15, the Colts (4-9-1) enter Monday Night Football just looking to survive to the end of this dismal campaign. Interim coach Jeff Saturday hopes that Nick Foles can inject some life into the group.

Meanwhile, the Chargers (8-6) still have plenty to play for. Securing the anticipated win over the Colts on Monday would further cement Los Angeles’ playoff hopes. Let’s take a look at a few of our favorite player props for this Monday night matchup.

Chargers vs. Colts: Monday Night Football Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions (Week 16)

Michael Pittman (WR – IND): 6+ Receptions (-110 via DraftKings)

Michael Pittman embodied the ‘target hog’ moniker in Week 15 as he hauled in a double-digit reception total for the second time on the season. Although his Week 16 MNF opponent has allowed just 19.2 completions per game this season, Pittman should be in line for another game with heavy usage as a result of the Colts’ quarterback change to Nick Foles.

Foles is one of the more dink-and-dunk-friendly quarterbacks in the league. That blends well with Pittman’s recent usage as Indianapolis has force-fed its best receiver near the line of scrimmage in recent weeks. Though he racked up 10 catches last week, he only finished with 60 yards.

The yardage doesn’t matter for this prop, though. All Pittman needs to do is secure six or more catches, something he’s done successfully in nine of his 13 games played on the season.

Keenan Allen (WR – LAC): OVER 5.5 Receptions (-138 via FanDuel)

Keenan Allen looks to serve as another probable target hog on Monday Night Football. Since returning from an injury that kept him out for a large chunk of the season, the veteran Los Angeles has secured at least five receptions in five straight games.

Allen has cleared the 5.5 receptions mark in his last three games, collecting 20 grabs over his last two contests. Justin Herbert facing a Colts defense that just allowed Kirk Cousins to go 34-for-54 with 460 passing yards is the kind of matchup you want to see for wide receiver props bets. Allen should continue to function as a vacuum for his talented quarterback.

Deon Jackson (RB – IND): OVER 31.5 Rushing Yards (-113 via FanDuel)

After Jonathan Taylor left early with an ankle injury in the Colts’ historic loss to the Vikings last week, Zack Moss got the bulk of the rushing workload over backfield mate Deon Jackson. Moss out-carried Jackson 24 to 13.

That small sample has led to Moss seeing a rushing total at FanDuel that is 24 yards higher than Jackson’s for Monday night against the Chargers. But the value is on Jackson as there’s a case to be made that Moss’ involvement was largely game-script dependent and won’t be replicated against Los Angeles.

Moss profiles more as the inside runner that you’d use if you had a big lead, say 33-0 at halftime, and wanted to kill some clock. That’s what the Colts attempted to do with the bruising runner last week. That it came in a losing effort might convince Indy to roll with the more talented Jackson in a neutral game script. Jackson’s rushing line is a value at just 31.5 yards. He easily cleared it last week in a 55-yard outing in which he averaged 4.2 YPC.
