Charleston Southern Buccaneers vs Georgia Bulldogs Odds & Game Pick (2021)
In middle November, a game between Charleston Southern and Georgia isnât a game that college football fans want to see. Especially with Georgia being the number one team in the country and playing for a College Football Playoff spot.
Georgia will likely sit starters by the end of the second quarter and try to get new faces in to see some live game action. Thatâs what makes handicapping a game like this so difficult. On the other hand, Charleston Southern is 4-5 on the season and while theyâve done well defensively this season, going up against Georgia is just a completely different animal. Georgia is slightly different from Georgia Southerâs last opponent in Gardner Webb, who Charleston Southern defeated in double overtime, 32-24.
These games are incredibly tricky, but weâll do our best to break down the Charleston Southern Buccaneers game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Overview
The Georgia Bulldogs are 10-0 on the season and now get a big break as theyâll take on a 4-5 Charleston Southern team. Iâm not going to sit here and talk about Charleston Southern a whole lot because letâs be honest, Iâve never watched this team play. Going off analytics, the defense is where Charleston Southern has had success this season. Theyâve done well in coverage and have allowed 25.9 points per game, which isnât so bad.
Offensively, it seems as though Charleston Southern has struggled a bit. The pass protection has been dreadful, and quarterback play from Jack Chambers has been far from excellent as he has nine interceptions on the year as a senior.
Meanwhile, Georgia should be able to get whatever they want offensively against Charleston Southern, and we might even get to see J.T. Daniels get a couple of seriesâ in this game as thereâs still a quarterback battle between Daniels and Stetson Bennett.
It seems like as long as Georgia is winning, head coach Kirby Smart wonât change anything and keep Stetson Bennett as the quarterback. Bennett has sneaky agility and mobility but isnât always as accurate as youâd like. However, Bennett is capable of running for first downs and is a smaller quarterback compared to Daniels.
With Georgia allowing 7.6 points per game this season to power 5 teams, itâs hard to believe Charleston Southern can do much damage against Georgia in this one offensively. It would be quite hilarious if this game turned into a Florida vs. Samford game, but itâs just not going to happen.

Trends
- Buccaneers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. SEC.
- Buccaneers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
- Under is 4-0 in Bulldogs last 4 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game.
Bottom Line
The line for this game is going to take a while to release. With plenty of guys injured and sportsbooks losing so much money going up against Georgia backers, oddsmakers are going to make sure they get this line right before giving it out.
Therefore, weâll have to wait and see what the lines are later in the week. At this point, Iâm thinking the under is the play, knowing that Smart and Georgia wonât want to do much of anything in the second half once this game is in the bag.
Pick: Under (-110)
