College Basketball Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (2/10)

Welcome to the Friday college basketball slate. March Madness is right around the corner, I can almost taste it. I've been on a bit of a cold streak of late but that only means I'm due for a bounce back. There are some solid matchups today but remember not to force any bets you don't love, there is still plenty of season left.

Here are my best bets for Friday.

This Week: 5-6-0
This Season: 69-65-6

Friday’s Best College Basketball Picks

Xavier at Butler

For the highlight of this lowkey Friday slate, you have what honestly should be a solid game in Hinkle Fieldhouse between these two Big East squads.

Xavier has one of the best offenses in the nation. They shoot above 40 percent from beyond the arc which leads the nation. What's great for them is how consistent they are as well, ranking 127th in the metric which is quite high for how well they shoot from deep.

Where Butler struggles is in the interior, allowing nearly 60 percent of opponents points from inside the arc. The Bulldogs do play well at home but they also won't be able to stop Xavier's second-chance looks and their only hope is shooting from deep, which they do at a moderate rate.

Xavier has lost just two games since November. Two. They have shown their ability to win tough road games and have the ability to run their opponent out of the gym. I'm taking the Musketeers here tonight.

Play: Xavier -7.5 (-102 at FanDuel)

Saint Louis at Dayton

I'll start by saying that Malachi Smith is questionable tonight for Dayton with an ankle injury so the Flyers might be down. But Smith has only played in 10 games this year and they're coming off a victory over VCU without him.

The battle for the top of the A10 is vicious. Dayton's defense ranks in the top 50 in the nation with a suffocating perimeter defense, limiting opponents to shooting shy of 29 percent from deep. They pull down rebounds and are good at staying out of foul trouble as well.

My lean here is Dayton, ranked 38th in home court play via Haslametrics. Their near-proximity shooting ranks 25th which I trust to be consistent, and handle Saint Louis tonight at home.

Play: Dayton -5.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

Other Plays:

Saint Peters -3.5 (-110 at DraftKings)
Cleveland State -6.5 (-105 at DraftKings)
Wright State -2.5 (-120 at FanDuel)
