Top 3 College Basketball Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (2/14)
There are no ranked teams in action tonight. In fact, there is only one Power 4 matchup on what is a very quiet night of college basketball. Who has the edge in that game between the UCLA Bruins and the Indiana Hoosiers? Meanwhile, the Saint Louis Billikens take on the Loyola Chicago Ramblers and the San Jose State Spartans host the Nevada Wolf Pack. Who has the advantage in each of those games?

Friday’s Best College Basketball Bets
Saint Louis vs. Loyola Chicago
Both of these teams are averaging over 73 points per game while allowing at least 68.8. That would point to this game going over the listed total. However, recent play suggests that this may be a lower-scoring game than many expect.
The Ramblers have seen four of their last five games finish with 130 points or fewer. In two of those contests, neither team scored even 60 points. And while they're coming off an 87-80 win over the Richmond Spiders, that game went to overtime.
The Billikens have been a part of higher-scoring games, with five consecutive games going for at least 134 points. But they've also been a part of some low-scoring affairs, including three games in A-10 play where neither team scored 70 points. Because neither team is consistent enough on offense, I'll take the Under.
The Pick: Under 140.5 (-110)
UCLA vs. Indiana
The Bruins have won seven of their last eight games, but they dropped their most recent contest by five points to the Illinois Fighting Illini. While they've managed to get to 9-5 in Big Ten play before their matchup with the Indiana Hoosiers, I worry for them tonight.
The fact is, the Bruins haven't been good when they have to travel east. They are just 1-5 when playing in the Central or Eastern time zones this year. And while it looked like they'd figured something out during their recent seven-game winning streak, each of those contests was played either at home or on the West Coast. As soon as they traveled to Illinois, they lost.
The Hoosiers have lost seven of their last nine games, but they just picked up a massive road win over the Michigan State Spartans. With a matchup against the Purdue Boilermakers looming, this could be a look-ahead spot. However, with how the Bruins play on the road, I like the small underdogs to pull off the upset.
The Pick: Indiana (+110)
Nevada vs. San Jose State
The first time these two teams met, the Spartans hung around until about eight minutes remaining in the game. At that point, with the score set at 55-54, the Wolf Pack went on a 20-10 run to close out the game and win by a wider margin than the play on the court suggested.
In that contest, the Wolf Pack shot 52.7% from the field, outshooting the Spartans by 11.5%. And while the Wolf Pack are one of the best shooting teams in the nation, they're shooting 46.3% on the road. That's 3% worse than what they're shooting in home games.
The Spartans have lost two games in a row, including one contest by 27 points. While that is certainly worrying, this Wolf Pack team isn't that much better than them. This line feels as though it was set with box score watchers in mind. Don't be followed by the final score of the first game. Take the Spartans to cover and possibly win this game.
The Pick: San Jose State +6.5 (-105)
