College Football Bowl Game Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks (Monday)

We have finally made it! The 2023 College Football season is finally nearing it’s conclusion, with the CFP Semifinals kicking off tonight between #1 Michigan vs #4 Alabama and #2 Washington taking on #3 Texas. Both games profile as really great matchups on paper, so we should be in for a really exciting night of college football. Before we get there though, 3 other bowl games remain including one of the New Year’s Six bowl games with Oregon and Liberty squaring off in the Fiesta Bowl. Below I have an anytime TD scorer picked for each game today, let’s get some of these tickets to the window and savor the little time we have left in the 2023 season.

Monday’s Best CFB Touchdown Scorer Picks

LSU vs Wisconsin – ReliaQuest Bowl – 12:00PM EST

RB Josh Williams (LSU) Anytime TD Scorer (+130 @ DraftKings)

Josh Williams was the 3rd leading ball carrier for the Tigers this year, toting the ball 43 times for 233 yards and 5 TDs. He was electric catching balls out of the backfield as well, grabbing 11 balls with a YPC of 15.6 and adding on another TD. He should be a huge benefactor of Heisman winning QB Jayden Daniels opting out of this game, as Daniels was the leading ball carrier for LSU this season, meaning Williams will slide up the pecking order and likely get more opportunities in this game. Wisconsin looks like they’ll be out of a few key defenders due to the transfer portal, so I think LSU will still be able to move the ball and put up points despite Daniels not suiting up. I like Williams to get in the end zone as a back who should see increased opportunities on this offense that can obviously put up a ton of points.

Oregon vs Liberty – VRBO Fiesta Bowl – 1:00PM EST

QB Bo Nix (ORE) Anytime TD Scorer (+106 @ FanDuel)

Bo Nix says he’s going to lace them up one more time and start for the Ducks in their New Year’s Six Fiesta Bowl game against Liberty, this year’s representative from the group of 5. Nix carried the ball 53 times on the season for 228 yards and 6 TDs, all of which ranked 3rd on the team this season. He’ll be up against a Liberty defense that conceded over 21PPG and 110 rushing YPG, despite the fact that they had the easiest strength of schedule in the entire country. I think they’re completely overmatched in this game, and I think Bo Nix will have all the motivation in the world to get himself in the end zone down near the goal line in his final performance as a collegiate athlete. I like him at anything plus money or better to score this afternoon.

Tennessee vs Iowa – Cheez-It Citrus Bowl – 1:00PM EST

Iowa D/ST Anytime TD Scorer (+400 @ DraftKings)

The Cheez-It Bowl has brought us some memorable moments in the past, and this year it brings us a matchup between Tennessee and Iowa that features the lowest point total on the board this bowl season at 36. Volunteers starting QB Joe Milton will not play in this game, meaning that 5-star freshman Nico Iamaleava will start in his stead. I cannot imagine a worse matchup for a QB in their first start, as he will be baptized by fire against an Iowa defense that has carried their team to success for yet another season. I think they’ll be able to force Nico into making mistakes, and at 4/1 odds I’ll roll the dice that they convert one of those turnovers into a TD. They’re also no stranger to generating TDs during bowl games, as they scored 2 defensive TDs in a 21-0 victory over Kentucky in last year’s Music City Bowl.

#1 Michigan vs #4 Alabama – The Rose Bowl Game – 5:00PM EST

WR Roman Wilson (MICH) Anytime TD Scorer (+194 @ FanDuel)

Roman Wilson is the top receiving threat for J.J. McCarthy and this Wolverines offense, and I think they need him to have a big day to advance to the championship game as I don’t envision them having much success running the football against Alabama’s defense. Wilson caught 41 balls this year at a team-best 16.1 YPC for a team-leading 11 TDs. This will be the 3rd straight CFP appearance for Harbaugh and the Wolverines, and I think they realize that they need to open up the offense and let J.J. throw the ball around to give themselves a shot, as they fared much better with that approach last year against TCU than they did with the ground-and-pound gameplan against Georgia the year prior. At nearly 2/1 odds to score as Michigan’s top target, this is my favorite anytime TD scorer in this semifinal matchup. Look for Wilson to get in the end zone on a slant route when Michigan gets near the end zone.

#2 Washington vs #3 Texas – Allstate Sugar Bowl – 8:45PM EST

WR Jalen McMillan (WASH) Anytime TD Scorer (+145 @ DraftKings)

Jalen McMillan’s season-long stats don’t look all that impressive because he missed a significant portion of the season due to injury, but he still managed to put up pretty solid numbers. He ranked 3rd in the Huskies trio of NFL-caliber receivers with 34 catches for 468 yards and 3 TDs, but we just saw him serve as Penix’s go-to guy in the PAC-12 Championship Game, as he reeled in 9 passes for 131 yards against Oregon. This game should see plenty of offensive fireworks and the Longhorns were pretty susceptible through the air this season, ranking in the bottom half of the Big-12 at defending the pass despite having the conference’s top scoring defense. Washington will be able to execute at a much higher level than those Big 12 teams could, and I would not be shocked at all if they put up 35+ points on the board. I think McMillan is responsible for at least one of those scores, as he’s now seemingly healthy and fully ingratiated back into the offense. Fellow WR Ja’Lynn Polk is around the same odds for this prop, but I prefer McMilllan to score over Polk.
