Fridayâs Best CFB Player Props
(Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook)
Phil Mafah Over 82.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
It sounds like Phil Mafah hasnât made a decision about joining the 2024 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, his running partner, Will Shipley, will head into the NFL Draft.
That leads me to believe that Mafah will get most of the snaps in this game. Shipley likely wonât risk much injury in this game.
Sportsbooks also donât have lines for Shipley but have Mafah numbers.
The Kentucky Wildcats have allowed 113.83 yards per game on the ground this season. Theyâre much weaker against the run than against the pass.
Meanwhile, Mafah has led the Tigers with 894 yards and nine touchdowns from 168 carries. He averaged 5.3 yards per rush and has added at least 84 rushing yards in five straight games. Heâll likely be the lead guy and could see more carries if Shipley decides to sit out the second half.
Blake Watson Anytime Touchdown (-118)
Senior running back Blake Watson added 177 carries for 1,045 yards with 14 touchdowns this season. He averaged 5.9 yards a carry and will get to play in Memphisâ home stadium against Iowa State.
Iowa State will travel well. It wonât be strictly a home game. But Memphis will have an advantage in that regard.
The Tigers have scored nearly 40 points per game and will take on an Iowa State defense that has already allowed 131.58 yards per game on the ground this season. Watson is an effective runner and is used a whole lot around the goal line.
After all, Watson has scored a touchdown in six straight games and only missed out on a touchdown in two games this season. Heâs going to score on Friday.
TreVeyon Henderson Over 113.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
TreVeyon Henderson is one of the only returners on offense for the Buckeyes. The only significant players playing for Ohio State during the regular season are Henderson and wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. Cade Stover will also play, but heâs been on-and-off this season.
Therefore, itâs likely that Henderson sees the ball a lot.
Henderson earned 137 rushes this season and added 854 yards, averaging 6.2 yards a rush. His volume wasnât super high, but he was extremely effective when he got the ball. Henderson added 11 touchdowns and had a long rush of 75 yards earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Missouri has given up 124.58 yards on the ground per game this season. Devin Brown, Ohio Stateâs quarterback, could earn some rushes. But overall, Ohio State will feel the most comfortable getting the ball into Hendersonâs hands against Missouri. Take his Over.
