Tuesday’s Best CFB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Connor Bazelak Over 162.5 Receiving Yards (-117)

Connor Bazelak used to play in the Big Ten. He had a year with Indiana and also played in the SEC as quarterback for Missouri. Therefore, this game against Minnesota won’t phase the senior quarterback. Bazelak threw for 1,714 yards with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season.

He won’t have leading receiver Ta’Ron Keith at running back, but he will have Harold Fannin Jr., a sophomore receiver who added nearly 15 yards per catch this season.

Bazelak has hit at least 163 yards in five games this season. He threw the ball under 20 times in the games he didn’t. In this Bowl game, they’ll let Bazelak throw a bit more against a Bowling Green defense that won’t have their top cornerback, who transferred to Maryland.

Ismail Mahdi Over 100.5 Rushing Yards (-108)

Ismail Mahdi added 1,209 yards rushing on 199 carries this season. He earned 10 touchdowns and ran for 6.1 yards per carry.

He hasn’t broken 100 yards rushing since Oct. 28, but that was against Troy, one of the best teams in the SunBelt this season.

Mahdi added 99, 97 and 97 yards in three of his last four games, but I like his chances of getting back over 100 in this game. Mahdi will likely see 20+ carries and is facing a Rice defense that has allowed over 153 yards per game on the ground this season.

Plus, with J.T. Daniels medically retired at Rice, Texas State is favored to win this game. Mahdi could be a workhorse later in the game, with Texas State leading.

Jason Bean Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-163)

Some analysts are worried about Kansas’ offense with offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki no longer with the program. Kotelnicki is now with Penn State as its offensive coordinator, but Kansas still has Jason Bean at quarterback and Devin Neal at running back.

Bean threw 12 touchdowns and 1,681 yards and held a QBR of 81.4 this season. Since Jalon Daniels had a setback, Bean became the full-time starter for the team.

He’s only had three games with two or more passing touchdowns, but he added two against Cincinnati in his last game and will face a UNLV team that isn’t great in coverage. The secondary is the weak point for the defense.

Kansas will put up a lot of points against UNLV. They’ve allowed 27 points per game. Bean should be able to earn two passing touchdowns.
