College Football National Championship Player Prop Bet Odd & Picks: Washington vs. Michigan

The College Football Playoff Semifinal matchups were out of control!

The Michigan-Alabama game went to overtime, and the Texas-Washington matchup came down to the final seconds!

Michigan escaped Alabama in that overtime period, and Washington held on to defeat Texas in a high-scoring affair. Now, the Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies will take their 14-0 records and fight for the College Football Playoff Championship.

The Big Ten has to be pleased with this outcome!

That said, I’ve added a few player props to consider for the Championship game on Monday night.

J.J. McCarthy Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-180)

J.J. McCarthy has added 22 touchdowns this season with only four interceptions. His QBR is currently 89.5, also the nation’s third-best.

But he’s only added two or more passing touchdowns in one of his last six games. That one game was against Alabama after he completed just 17 passes and added three passing touchdowns.

The best way to beat Washington is by running the football. Washington has allowed 137.36 yards per game on the ground this season and has missed countless tackles throughout the year.

Michigan’s Blake Corum has 25 rushing touchdowns this season. He’s the guy that typically gets the ball around the red zone and goal line. With Washington’s secondary playing at a high level, I fully expect Corum, not McCarthy, to have a big day.

Blake Corum Over 105.5 Yards Rushing (-114)

Let’s get this straight, Blake Corum has rarely added games with over 100 rushing yards this season. But the more I look into these two teams, I’d be shocked if Corum wasn’t the center of the gameplan against the Huskies.

Again, the Huskies have allowed 137.36 yards per game on the ground this season. Washington’s known for its secondary, but the Huskies are just a little above average upfront.

The Wolverines have blocked well in the run game, helping Corum to 1,111 yards on 237 carries. His average of 4.7 yards per carry isn’t elite. However, we can’t forget that Corum ran against Big Ten defenses this year. The Big Ten ultimately has the best defenses, especially against the run.

I’d expect Corum to see the ball more than 20 times in this matchup. He broke out for a 21-yard rush against Alabama and will likely earn a larger extended play against Washington. Take his Over.

Ja’Lynn Polk Over 3.5 Receptions (-130)

The last time Ja’Lynn Polk didn’t add at least four receptions was against Boise State on September 2.

It’s been 11 straight games, with Polk adding at least four receptions. He just saw five catches for 122 yards against the Texas Longhorns in the CFP Semis.

Polk has been a major portion of Washington’s offense this season. He’s a preferred target of Penix Jr’s. He’s added 65 receptions for 1,122 yards with nine touchdowns. Pollk has also averaged 17.3 yards per catch this season.

He’ll be needed against Michigan. Washington is also the underdog in this matchup, meaning the Huskies might find themselves desperately throwing the ball late in the game. Take Polk’s Over.
