College Football Playoff Same Game Parlay: Notre Dame vs. Georgia (Sugar Bowl)

This contest could easily be the most exciting CFP game of the first two rounds. You can make it even more exciting by getting some skin in the game. But if you're going to do that, this could be an excellent game for same-game parlays. Of course, with same-game parlays (SGPs), much like traditional parlays, there is an increased level of risk compared to placing individual bets.

But with that risk comes an opportunity for increased reward.

Same-Game Parlays: Notre Dame vs. Georgia

SGP No. 1: If you think the Bulldogs will win...

  • Georgia -1 at -110
  • UNDER 45 at -105
  • Gunner Stockton, OVER 13.5 Rushing Yards at -125
  • SGP Odds: +425 (via Caesars)

The Bulldogs may not get much out of their passing game with first-time starter Gunner Stockton at quarterback, but they will probably get a better day in the run game from the quarterback position.

Carson Beck is not a mobile quarterback; he ran for OVER 13.5 yards in just four of 12 regular-season games. Stockton had eight yards on eight carries in one half vs. Texas. But he'll be better prepared and will probably do a better job picking his moments to run than he did vs. the Longhorns.

This game will feature two solid defenses and offenses that focus on establishing the run game over passing. Such games are more likely to be low-scoring affairs than high-scoring ones.

A $100 wager will result in a $525 payday, your stake plus $425 in winnings.

SGP No. 2: If you think the Fighting Irish will win...

  • Notre Dame ML at -105
  • Riley Leonard, 2+ Touchdown Scorer at +700
  • Riley Leonard, UNDER 216.5 Passing and Rushing Yards at -114
  • SGP Odds: +3324 (via FanDuel)

Carson Beck had some issues down the stretch, but there is something to be said for having an experienced quarterback in a high-profile game like the CFP. Playing a solid team like Notre Dame is not a great time for giving a sophomore his first start.

Notre Dame's defense will keep Stockton and the Georgia offense in check. Since Notre Dame is run-oriented on offense, the Fighting Irish will not ask Leonard to throw too often. Thus, his passing total will be relatively low (it was under 165 in seven of 12 regular season games).

While Leonard is a mobile quarterback, and the Georgia defense had some issues, Leonard is more likely to have a day like Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart (eight carries for 50 yards) than Jalen Milroe (16 carries for 117 yards). He is a dangerous runner, but the Bulldogs defense will not let him go off for more than 50 yards.

Leonard has 15 rushing touchdowns this season, with at least one in ten of 13 games and multiple in four. If you're feeling ambitious, use Leonard to score 2+ for a shot at a massive payday. If you're not feeling ambitious, use his anytime touchdown odds (+120; SGP odds become +696).

A $100 wager will result in a $3424 ($796) payday, your stake plus $3324 ($696) in winnings.

SGP No. 3: If you're not sure who will win but think it will be a low-scoring game...

  • UNDER 45.5 Points at -114
  • Georgia, UNDER 10.5 First Half Points at -136
  • Notre Dame, UNDER 10.5 First Half Points at -144
  • SGP Odds: +266

Neither team is great at throwing the ball. Both leaned on their respective defenses and rushing attacks to win games this season and will likely do so in the Sugar Bowl, which will keep the score relatively low-especially in the first half.

With a new quarterback under center facing a tough Notre Dame defense, the Bulldogs may need the first half to work out the kinks. Notre Dame will not have to worry as much about working out any kinks. But the Bulldogs defense will make them work hard for every point scored. Look for the first half to end with a 7-0, 7-3, 10-7, or 10-10 score.

A $100 wager will result in a $366 payday, your stake plus $266 in winnings.
