Georgia Bulldogs vs. Ole Miss Rebels
Iâve really enjoyed the parity in college football this season. Thereâs no undefeated team in the SEC, which rarely happened in previous years.
Georgia is ranked No. 2 in the nation. However, the Bulldogs still have a loss to Alabama and nearly collapsed against Florida. Ultimately, Georgia survived since Florida was onto its third quarterback.
While Georgia escaped Florida, Ole Miss looked absolutely unstoppable on offense against Arkansas. Jaxson Dart threw for over 500 yards and added six passing touchdowns without an interception. He only missed on six passes in the entire game and led Ole Miss to 63 points.
The Ole Miss Rebels are locked in. Now, theyâll get a home game against Georgia, who probably canât keep up offensively with the Rebels. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart had to smack his guys in the face to wake up during their latest game.
Ole Miss will be dominant against the run. Theyâve held teams to just 82.22 yards per game. Meanwhile, this season, Georgia hasnât blocked particularly well in the run game. If Ole Miss can get early stops against the run and force third-and-long, theyâll get off the field at home.
Give me Ole Miss at +114.
Pick: Ole Miss (+114)
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. LSU Tigers
Letâs stay in the SEC. Alabama-LSU is another massive showdown in the conference. Itâs tough to win at night in Tiger Stadium. Yet, Alabama is a 3-point favorite at this time.
The LSU Tigers looked dominant against Texas A&M in their latest game until the Aggies changed quarterbacks. The Aggies went with Marcell Reed over Conner Weigman, and that was enough to escape LSU at home. Nothing went right for the Tigers, but theyâll regroup and be more prepared than ever heading into this game.
Meanwhile, Alabama is also coming off a bye week. The Crimson Tide most recently beat Missouri, 34-0, at home. But that win was mostly due to playing against Missouriâs backup quarterback, Drew Pyne. Pyne completed six passes and threw three interceptions.
Credit to the defense. However, this was how Pyne had been playing all year. At the same time, Garrett Nussmeier will make mistakes. However, heâll be better poised and less rattled, which will help minimize those bad decisions.
Letâs not forget Alabama already lost to Vanderbilt and Tennessee this year. The common denominator for both of those games was that Alabama was on the road.
Alabama has literally lost its last two road games this season. LSUâs last home win came at night against Ole Miss. Give me LSU as a home underdog as well.
Pick: LSU (+124)
