Top College Football Odds & Picks: Week 11 (Friday)
California vs. Wake Forest
The California Golden Bears began the season 3-0. However, since their win against Auburn, California has been 1-4 and are currently 4-4. The Golden Bears are actually coming off a massive win over Oregon State, 44-7, thanks to Fernando Mendoza's 364 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Still, California wasn't balanced offensively. The run game was weak, especially after Jayden Ott rushed ten times for just 11 yards. On the other hand, Wake Forest has allowed 31 points per game this year. Yet, they've won their last two games over UConn and Stanford and allowed no more than 24 in either. The defense has improved over the previous couple of weeks. With a home game on the horizon and a two-game win streak on the line, I'll trust Wake Forest at +7 (-110).
Pick: Wake Forest +7

Iowa vs. UCLA
The UCLA Bruins have caught some fire. With wins against Rutgers and Nebraska on the road, UCLA can still think about a potential bowl game this year. That said, they'll need to win three of their remaining four games to pull off that feat. The Bruins have added at least 27 points in back-to-back games behind Ethan Garbers. Before the matchup against Rutgers, Garbers had four touchdowns and nine interceptions. After his last two games, he has ten touchdowns and nine interceptions. His QBR is actually 35th in college football now. However, it's hard to imagine Garbers finding success against Iowa. Iowa has allowed no more than 16 points in their last three wins, including just 10 points in a 42-10 dominating win against Wisconsin. UCLA has made a strong comeback in the second half of the season. But Iowa will be too much for the Bruins to handle, especially with backup QB Brendan Sullivan playing at the level he's been playing at. Take Iowa at -6.5 (-110).
Pick: Iowa -6.5

Rice vs. Memphis
The Memphis Tigers are coming off a somewhat shocking road loss to UTSA, 44-36. The Memphis defense has allowed 23.44 points per game but had no answers against UTSA. Ultimately, UTSA converted on seven of 17 third-down conversations and gained 408 yards as a result. That was enough to beat Memphis. However, Memphis still gained 516 yards of offense and totaled 454 in the air. If you looked at the box score, you'd think Memphis won. However, Memphis turned the ball over twice and committed 12 penalties on the road. That hurt. Meanwhile, they'll take on a Rice team that has allowed just 159.22 yards per game in the air this season. Rice has one of the best secondaries in the American Conference and should be able to slow down Memphis' offensive attack. After all, Rice just held Navy to 10 points last week in a 24-10 win. I'll trust Memphis to play better defense on the road and back the Under 52.5 (-115) in this matchup.
Pick: Under 52.5

New Mexico vs. San Diego State
New Mexico hits the road for Snapdragon Stadium to take on San Diego State Friday night. The Lobos have managed three wins in just nine tries, but their games do not come with a lack of excitement. UNM suffered a 49-45 loss against Wyoming in the ABQ last weekend, losing outright as a 9-point favorite in a wild shootout. The Lobos have scored 45 or more points in four of the past five games, while allowing 37 or more points in the same span. The Over is 4-1 in the past five games, while going 7-2 in nine outings overall. For the home side, they were spanked 56-24 by RB Ashton Jeanty and Boise State on the Smurf Turf last Friday. The Aztecs offense has picked up the pace with 24 or more points in four in a row, while also allowing 21 or more points in seven consecutive games. The winning team in seven of the past eight games in this series has scored 30 or more points, and both teams are likely to get there in this battle.
Pick: Over 66.5
