College Football Week 11 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday
Ohio vs. Miami (OH)
Tuesday night MACtion returns for the second week in a row, as a key MAC-East matchup is on deck in Miami, Ohio. The 6-3 (4-1 in conference Ohio Bobcats come to town to take on the 4-5 (2-3) Red Hawks in a pivotal matchup for both teams' chances this season. For the Bobcats, it's the second week in a row playing on Tuesday, as they beat Buffalo 45-24 last week, doing so as 3-point home underdogs; their fourth straight win.
For the Red Hawks, things got back on track last week after having lost three of four to start October, beating Akron on the road 27-9 in a game they desperately needed. On the season now, however, Miami has beaten teams with a combined Division I record of just 4-11 and come into this one ranked 117th or worse in points scored, total yards, and passing yards.
I think Ohio runs away with this one earlier rather than later.
Ball State vs. Toledo
The two top teams in the MAC-West will square off Tuesday night at Toledo (6-3, 4-1 in conference), as the Ball State Cardinals (5-4, 3-2) come to town. For the Cardinals, a rocky 1-3 start has been followed up by three wins in four games, with their most recent win coming last Tuesday at Kent State, winning outright (27-20) as seven-point underdogs.
Toledo also has been rolling after a mediocre start, winning four of their past five. They also come into this one with three more days of rest, having last played on October 29th, a 27-24 win on the road at Eastern Michigan.
The one major area I see of concern here for the Cardinals is their front seven, which has been putrid at stopping the run to this point. As of Tuesday, they are allowing 189.8 yards per game on the ground, amongst the worst in the nation.
Look for Ball State to be outgunned there, and for Toledo to pull away late accordingly.
